Richie C's Top Ten Monsters with 1000 attack or less. Hey! Richie C here, or VampiricFairyWarrior on the boards, this is my first article that I have ever sent in to Pojo. I decided to make a list of cards that people love to hate.... or hate to love... these are the small monsters, with HUGE abilities. The monsters on this list have 1000 attack or less, and have at one point or another been in my own deck. This is my Top Ten list of Monsters that have less than or equal to 1000 attack: 10.) Magical Merchant: Ok, when this first came out I thought it was a joke, but I have recently pulled out my crate of commons and re-considered this. It works wonders in Chaos decks, it is a light, that when flipped gets you a spell or trap. The only variable is how many monsters it will destroy, on average, it will be 0-2 max. which in Chaos could actually be helpfull, as they will likely be Dark and Light monsters. It also works well In exodia decks, unless you drop the head, wut are the odds of that happening? Also it is a deck thinner, so thats also a plus! 9.)Injection Fairy Lily: Admit it, you've used her, or at least thought about using her. She is a Goddess, while she may not be "In" right now (stupid Earth... she shoulda been a Light monster) she has massive potential. She can be retrieved with Sangan/Witch/Giant Rat and packs a massive punch. In fact, she is the biggest playable monster out right now. Imagine hitting your opponent directly with this? He looses 42.5% of his life points... while you loose a 25%. However, IFL can leave you in a very tight spot, your opponent can snatch/change her which speels trouble for you, also after paying for her 3 times the funs all done... seriously, and then you have a 400 creature stuck on your side of the field, in ATTACK mode. So I would recommend she only be used by experienced duelists... as if you use her too recklessly, it will spell game over for you and not your opponent. 8.) Fiber Jar: The look on a Chaos Deck User's face is priceless when they have removed upwards of 4 of their monsters and then attack this. It just works. A fiber Jar at the right time means you win. I presonally run a Chaos deck right now, and fiber just gives me the creeps. I have had 7 monsters removed from play, and because of a gravity bind, he got to flip it on his turn. Have you ever played with 11 monsters in your deck... 2 of which being Chaos? Also he got a free attack on me with his Mataza. Not fun. However, Fiber has lost a lot of it's usability, the main deck that it is good against, Chaos, uses scientist, simply put: Balter + Fiber Jar = One Happy Balter. Also other commonly played cards negate it, Ha Des comes right to mind. But, if you can pull of the Fiber Pod, you'll be in for some fun, and I would strongly recommend this in every deck that doesn't contain Chaos. 7.) Exiled Force: Hrm... can you say cheap monster removal? It can be searched by Witch/Sangan/GiantRat/Reinforcements Of the Army and can kill any monster on the field. Downside...? You can't summon that turn, or can you? A good move is reborn this. And then your Monster Reborn, Premature, Call of the Haunted become Tribute to the Dooms. However your opponent can also utilize this aswell, which is a bit of a downside. So it's up to you, use up your summon for that turn to destroy one of your opponents monsters, (regardless of position I might add) or just use an extra DDWL instead. IMHO DDWL > Exiled Force... as Exiled doesn't stop effects. If he stopped the effect of what he destroyed... well lets just say he would probably be in the top 3... but he doesn't so deal. 6.) Magician of Faith: Spells are important. There are no serious decks that dont have Spells. Wouldn't be nice to get to re-use one of those spells? There is one reason not to use this. The off-chance that it MIGHT get Change Of Heart activated on it. There are other things that negate it, Balter/HaDes (they will be coming up alot in this list as they are the enemies of these type of monster). But even if she gets negated, you still have a valuble Light monster in your grave... so wuts the downside? I dont see any. Also you can flip it up, get your spell, and then activate Metamoph on her to get out a TER. In my opinion this belongs in every Chaos deck, and most other decks as well. 5.) Spirit Reaper: Ok. there is one factor in Yu-Gi-Oh that comes above all others, and that is Lifepoints, what this fella does: is protect them, which is VERY Vital. How? You may ask... well thats simple. He cannot be destroyed by battle. Not only can he not be destroyed in battle, he is icredibaly easy to get out. A Sangan can fetch him, a Tomato can special summon him, a Turtle can special summon him in defence mode (even better). He provides a shield that is almost completely impenitrable... notice the almost... if you designate him in any way, he dies, he is also vunerable to Sasuke Samurai (which not many people use however), and the usual removal cards. He is however immune to Ha Des, and Balter. He also has an added bonus... he destroys cards... and if you need to learn the value of a card go look at 3.) on the list... 4.)Sangan: Ok, look at this list... and realize that if this card leaves the field (except when attacked by Balter/Hades) you can get ANY one of these cards on this list. A well-timed sangan can mean the game for you. Especially when used alongside CED. It's counter part Witch can do the same thing... but this list is for 1000 and lower so :P. Also Sangan can grab Tomatoes /Angels /DDWLs / or even a Don Zaloog. Sangan is just so versatile for his rarity... oh yeah did I happen to mention it was a Rare and a Common! Off the top of my head, there is no deck that should be without Sangan. Well unless it is a Anti-Sangan deck... 3.)Yata-Garasu: (throws up Hate mail shield) The card every duelists has, at one time or another, loved to hate, or hated to love... either way... this card is a GOD, I am not going to write an article about him, and how game-changing he was. However, I will tell you that if your deck is contructed right, a drawn card in this game is the most valuble asset ever. With the draw that the crow negates, you could have drawn a Pot of Greed, a Chairty, a Reborn, a Chaos Monster, a Pre-Negator (which would likely kill the Yata), or even a crap card.... my point is that 9/10 Drawing a card is crucial, I have seen people come back from a Yata lock simply because the yata-victim simply got to draw one card. In this game (as much as I hate to admit it) one single card can mean winning or losing... and this is one card, that if used correctly, will bring you much closer to winning. 2.)Sinister Serpent: OMG I could never imagine putting this guy higher than Yata in this category, but the Snake is too good to pass up, it really belongs in any deck, it can save an Exodia piece after a DDuo/DonZ/Spirit Reaper attack in an Exodia deck, It is a free discard for Graceful Charity, which belongs in every deck, you can metamorph him for a TER, and then get him back next turn. Also the snake will stop a Yata cold. A feit that shouldn't be taken lightly. I am probably forgetting half the uses for this versatile creature, but if I listed them all here you would probably get an anurism from reading too much. Simply Put: No Deck should be Without a Snake! 1.) Magical Scientist: I will admit when it first came out I didn't really like him, the whole Catapult Turtle thing just rubbed me the wrong way, I mean it was too easy to stop. And then people started using this guy for better reasons, using Balters, Ryu Senshis, Thousand Eyes restricts. It's then when people were putting scientist to good use, paying a mere 1000 lp to negate a Witch/Sangan/Tomato/Angel effect, it was priceless. Or on the flipside paying 1000 to "suck up" a monster with a TER to have the monster destroyed when TER goes back to the fusion deck, who can argue with that?! Also, if your familiar with Priority, this is one killer monster that falls into that fold as well. IMHO, Scientist is too good a card to not use. It is good for Effect and Trap Negation, as well as Monster Removal.... all with stats of 300/300.
