Subject: Yugioh Top 10 - lufia22's Top 10 m/t Removals Lufia22's Top 10 Magic/Trap Removal 10.) Remove Trap: Of course this is a horrible card. It only works on Face-up Trap cards. There's to restrictions to it right there. Then you think, how often do I see a continuous trap card? Not much. And if you do, it's still not worth playing this card. This card was used way back when, in the LOB days, in dragon decks to get rid of that pesky Dragon Capture Jar. Whoah...times have changed a lot since then. 9.) De-Spell: Another blast from the LOB past. This was THE m/t removal then. Along came Metal Raiders with Heavy Storm and Counter Traps to make this card useless. Just like Remove Trap, this card is heavily restricted but not as much. It ONLY destroys magics but you can use it on face down cards if you want. The problem is, it only destroys magics, not traps. While this is good against Equips, Field Magic, or any magic that stays on the field for more than a turn it's definately not good. Most of the time you'll be wanting to destroy face-down cards and most of the time they'll be trap cards. At least you get to see what it is. 8.) Trap Master/Reaper of the Cards: Hah! Some more LOB goodies. Notice how they're all at the bottom? I decided to rate these two cards as one. They have the same exact effect they just aren't the same monster. Trap Master is sort of underrated but it's definately not good. It's like the De-Spell for traps that is disguised as a monster with a flip effect. This card wastes a summon but at least it can work on face-down traps. Reaper of the Cards is just a Lvl. 5 card with a solid defense of 1930. Unfortunately, it was a summon AND a tribute. Double the not worth it as 1930 defense his horrible for one tribute. 7.) Spiritualism: Whoah! A big jump from LOB to LON! Anyways, this card is horrible. It doesn't destroy anything and it only targets one m/t. That target goes back in the players hand. Then how does it beat all the ones before it?! Well, the simple fact that it can work on ALL m/t's, face-up or mostly makes it better. It also can't be countered, which makes it unique in my opinion. Not much to say about this one but it is an interesting card. This card is actually a rare. I've pulled three of them out of the few LON packs I've actually gotten. Boy does that make me mad. 6.) Bait Doll: Here is another LON card, except this one is a common. Why isn't this a rare?! It's better than Spiritualism! Ugh, sometimes I don't think they think when they put rarities on cards. Anyways, this card is even more interesting. It forces the activation of one face-down card. If it's a magic, it's flipped back face-down. If the timing is incorrect then destroy that card. There's two problems with that. The target has to be face-down AND you have to hope it doesn't force the activation. However, most of the good traps you should be worried about are triggered by something else and would be destroyed by this card. Luckily, there aren't a lot of cards to worry about that this card would activate. Once this is done, it's shuffled back into the deck, which makes this card semi-worthewhile. 5.) Giant Trunade: Here we go, Spiritualism put into Dark Hole form and is able to be countered. This card puts every m/t card on the field back into the owners hands. Well, compared to the top cards of this list to come, this isn't a very good thing. HOWEVER! There are some combos you would use this with. You could use this with Toon World or Premature Burial. There's very little knit-picky combos you could do with this card, other than that, this card isn't the greatest. Pick this if you don't have good m/t removals but stay away from it most of the times if you do. 4.) Dust Tornado: This card is a trap card that lets you destroy any m/t on the field. It also has an underused ability of after using it you can set an m/t. The first ability is quite good, considering what we have seen so far. There's one problem with this card, it's a trap. Traps have to be set one turn meaning they are slow. Otherwise it's a solid card, unfortunately it's a little rare for its usefulness. 3.) Heavy Storm: The Dark Hole of m/t's. This card destroys every m/t on the field. This card was one of the best m/t removals around and still is. Just like the strategy with Dark Hole, the best time to use this is when you have no m/t's and your opponent has some. This is a great m/t removal, so much so that it was restricted to two and is now restricted to one. However, this card is probably not advised in a deck that runs m/t heavy combos. Use with caution. 2.) Mystical Space Typhoon: Now why did I choose this card over Heavy Storm?! Why? It's not restricted, that's why. Heavy Storm has obvious power but it MST is just more controlled if you ask me. I like control. The only downside to this control is that you only get one target. Oh poo...but there is an up side! This card is Quickplay and that makes A LOT of difference. You can set it and use it on your opponent's turn or you can use it in the battle phase against those annoying Mirror Walls and stuff. Why is this card two ranks about Dust Tornado? Well, we already covered that DT was slow and that's the reason why. MST is not only a Magic card it's also a Quickplay, meaning it's doubly fast. That combined with the fact that you can get this card in the Pegasus starter deck ultimately makes this card a better card. One of the top m/t removals ever. 1.) Harpie's Feather Duster: The grand daddy of them all. The Raigeki of m/t removal. This is what Heavy Storm only dreams it could be. This card destroys every m/t on your opponent's side of the field. This card can almost reach "staple-dom." This card has obvious power and no draw backs. It's restricted as such and should be first pick for m/t removal in any deck. It's a promo in the World Wide Edition game for the Gameboy Advance. And to only think, it's just a duster. This is lufia22 signing off!
