Subject: DrBubbles Top 10 Commons This is the third list I've done for this site and will probobly be the hardest. The top ten commons will be alot harder than other lists because the cards generally aren't used as often, so anyone with comments , recommendations or anyone who thinks they have "the real top 10" , feel free to e-mail me at drbubbles2003@hotmail.com. First, number 11-20, or honorable mention. #20- Soul of Purity and Light. This is a personal favorite. No tribute-2000Atk monsters are hard to come by, especially with an alright effect. Magician of Faith and Shining Angel are good to use with this card to meet the summoning cost. Only use in a Light deck, obviously. #19- Bait Doll. I hate this card. It has been played on me at least 10 times, always hitting Magic Jammer or Solemn Judgement. This card is the reason that they have been replaced. Why is it only #19? Because now that MST comes as a common, it isn't needed. #18- Mysterious Guard. Even Warrior decks need some flip-effect monsters, and this guy isn't all bad. At worst, he is a Hane-Hane with better stats. At best, he is a combination Penguin Soldier/Time Seal. I can't believe I've never seen this used (note: works with Freed and Reinforcements of the Army). #17- 7 Colored Fish. This card used to see a lot of play in Beatdowns especially, but now generally sticks to Fisherman decks and Water/Gravity Bind decks ( if their are any). This is a fairly basic card- nothing fancy. just a good attacking card. #16- Waboku. This card can shut your opponent down for a turn, nothing more. Ocasionally, though, that is all you need. Works good for Spear Dragon and Goblin Attack Force if you want to get another attack out of them. #15- Tremendous Fire. This should only be used in Burn decks, but it does it's job well. 1000 direct damage is hard to come by, so this card definitely will see use for a little while yet. #14- Flash Assailant. I love this card, but feel a lot more hesitant since Yata came out about setting cards on the field to clear my hand just to give him the attack boost. Like most cards on here, he is a good substitute for more expensive monsters. If nothing else, you can remove him for Necrofear. #13- Frontier Wiseman. This card makes the Warrior-Bind deck something to fear. It is the best attacking level 3 in the game (tied with Dragon Zombie) with a good effect to boot. On top of all that, he is part of a decent fusion ( Dark Balter the Terrible). #12- Gravekeeper's Servent. If you run a deck depletion deck, you almost have to use this card. No cost, doesn't effect you and makes your opponent hesitant to attack- a deck depletion staple and the best common in Magic Ruler. #11- Jinzo #7. This card is uesd in almost all Gravity Bind decks ( at least in my area where PHG hasen't arrived.) and for good reason. A little attacks boost from one of the big three equips will gt your opponent worried quick. And now, The DrBubbles Top 10-Commons. #10- Labyrinth Wall. This card delivers what it promises- big defense and nothing else. This is a common one-tribute monster second in defence only to Yamata Dragon, Gate Guardian and Valkyrion. If you want defence, look no further. Try comboing Him with Ring of Magnetism. #9- Dream Clown. The former undisputed champion of the commons, Dream Clown's value has dropped significantly with the last few sets. However, the fact that it is a common makes this card still useable, mainly in the already mentioned Warrior-Bind deck. #8- The Hunter with Seven Weapons. Another great Warrior, this guy works best against Dragon, Fiend and Warrior decks ( I guess Machine decks are still around too). Generally, you will get at least one kill with this guy, and he can become a problem for your opponent. WOTBF hurts him pretty badly, though. #7- Fusion Gate. Fusion decks have always been rare, but this card has helped in the fact that it is no longer constant struggle to find enough Polymerizations. And when things aren't working out, you can play when you dont have the Fusion material to lure out your opponent Traps (mainly to see if they have IO). #6- A Legenadary Ocean. The Fisherman has been waiting for this since he came out. Suijin is now one-tribute, while Legendary Fisherman and Deepsea Warrior are now only 4*. Plus being considered Umi helps the last two considerably ( not top mention Tornado Wall). #5- Spear Cretin. This is the only card (other than The Shallow Grave) that can single-handedly give Fiber Jar another chance if he was destroyed. He has so many potential uses and combos that it's scary. You have to know what to expect from your opponent first, though. #4- Solumn Wishes. This card is possibly the most efficient life gainer in the game, since it doesn't have to meet any circumstances to be play. Works well comboed with Fire Princess, too. If you are low on money, this is a great space filler. #3- Inaba White Rabbit. I've seen this card effectively used even in Beatdown decks- it's just that good. If you have found yourself in some sort of "stalemate", this pressures your opponent into making the first move. For this kind of monster, 700 Atk is awesome. #2- Offering to the Doomed. Destroying and face-up monster is simply great, and skipping one draw will likely not hurt you near as much as your opponent losing a monster of your chioce. One of the most efficient Jinzo destroyers in the game, since it can't be countered when Jinzo is down. #1- Fairy Box. This card can make White Magical Hat and Masked Sorceror spmething to fear. Now, only Jinzo can guarantee a kill, and every one else has a 50/50 chance of destroying it or beind destroyed losing life points and card advantage. A simply awesome staller. And that concludes the DrBubbles Top 10-Commons.
