iTsHiMaGaiN’s Top Ten Burner Deck Cards (No PGH cards) 10. Just Desserts. Why? It’s sort of obvious. You usually wont be killing monsters so you will usually be doing 1500-2000 damage per just desserts. That adds up. 9. Magic Cylinder. Another obvious. If they attack with 1 monster their attack power will go into their life points as damage. Usually about 2000-3000 damage right there. 8. Ceasefire. Since most of your monsters in a burner deck are effect monsters the LP damage adds up. 7. Gravity Bind/ Messenger of Peace/ the Dark Door. Stall card are essential in a burner deck. 6. Bad Reaction to Simochi. This isn’t really a great card by itself but if you combo it with Snatch Steal and The Eye of Truth you could possibly be taking out 1000 LP per turn. That’s nothing to laugh at. 5. Troop Dragon/ Bubonic Vermin/ Nimble Momonga. I didn’t include giant germ because I don’t think it usually works as well as the others. If needed these things take up 3 attacks. Nimble Momonga gives you life when they are killed in battle, but most importantly they are pretty much 500 LP damage to your opponent. Just flip Bubonic Vermin, get another 1, sack the 1 in face up position with Cannon Soldier’s effect, Repeat as many time as you can. Troop Dragon works a little faster than Bubonic Vermin does. Just sack Troop Dragon through Cannon Soldier’s effect and you will get another 1, sack that 1 and you will get the third Troop Dragon sack that 1 and there is 1500 LP damage quickly. 4. Spear Cretin. With Gravity Bind or Messenger of Peace out with a Cannon Soldier this thing is a beast. You just need 1 in your graveyard. What you do is flip the Spear Cretin and you sac it through Cannon Soldier’s effect so you get another 1 from the graveyard. The next turn you flip it and sac it and you get another 1 through Spear Cretin’s effect. And if you have 2 Spear Cretins on the field that is a guaranteed 1000 LP to your opponent every turn. And since you have Gravity Bind or Messenger of Peace out; you don’t really need to worry about what your opponent brings back from Spear Cretin. 3. Cannon Soldier. I could leave the explanation at that Cannon Soldier. But I will explain what you can do with it. Change of Heart 1 of your opponent’s strong monsters. Maybe they equipped it with a United We Stand, Mage Power, or Axe of Despair. Sack it. There is 500 damage and your opponent just lost a good monster and a great equipment card. Maybe you have 5 monsters on the field sack 4 of them (not Cannon Soldier of course) then play Scapegoats sack all 4 of them and that is 4000 LP damage right there. I know there are other combos but that’s all I am going to list right now. 2. Fire Princess/ Marie the Fallen One. These 2 cards go hand in hand so I put them together. If you run a burner deck I believe you should have 3 of both of these in your deck. If you have 3 Maries in the graveyard and 1 Fire Princess on your field that’s 1500 LP damage during each of your stand by phases. Not to mention our get 600 LP also. Plus with Life gaining cards like Cure Mermaids and Solemn Wishes you will win in no time. But really what card could be better in a burner deck than Fire Princess. Well if you bear with me scroll to the bottom of the screen and you will see. . . . . . . . . . . . Number 1 is ...Gift of the Mystical Elf. I know some of you must think I’m out of my mind but if you have ever read the official card rulings on Upper decks website (I’ll give you time to go to the Pojo link to that website) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . It states that the 300 LP gain per monster is SEPARATE. That’s right SEPARATE. For some of you who still don’t understand this makes GotMe a game-ending card. Now think for a second. What if there are 5 monsters on the field and 2 of them are your Fire Princess. You use GotMe. On the card Fire Princess it states that every time you gain life points your opponent looses 500 LP. That means you have 2 Fire Princess on the field you use GotMe. 1 of your Fire Princesses is a monster so you gain 300 life points. You have 2 Fire Princesses on the field so there effect takes place so your opponent will lose 1000 LP the next monster makes you gain 300 LP. Your opponent looses another 1000 LPs. And so on until your opponent looses 5000 LPs with practically just the GotMe. And that’s just 1 GotMe. If you had 2 GotMe down and you used them that’s almost always game over. You win. Now you see why GotMe is Number 1. Now I know I left out a few important cards. I tried to stay away from a few obvious cards like Solemn Wishes, Tremendous Fire, Monster Reborn, Pot of Greed, Scapegoats, Card Destruction, Cyber Jar, Princess of Tsurugi (if you don’t know when it’s flipped you opponent loses 500 LP for every magic and trap on there side of the field), Graceful Charity, Painful Choice, and you get the picture but there are 2 cards I want to mention. Honorable Mention number 1. Possessed Dark Soul. More of a side deck card but still effective. Since besides Burner deck in tournaments I run sort of a weenie rush, clown control, gravity bind, equip deck with 2 Airknight Parshaths (my favorite card). So you can use Possessed Dark Soul and control your opponent’s monsters and use Cannon Soldier to do damage and get rid of threats. Also one of my friends runs A Legendary Ocean deck which makes most of his monsters level 3 or lower so use Possessed Dark Soul on them and use Cannon Soldier on them also. You can see how this is a good card to use. And Honorable Mention Number 2 is Ominous Fortunetelling. With 2 of these on the field you have a good chance of doing 1400 LP damage a turn. Just guess with the first 1 and if your right guess the same card again and your do 1400 LP damage in 1 Standby Phase. And at least you get to see 1 card in their hand I think because they have to show to prevent cheating. And if they don’t want you to use Ominous Fortunetelling they will put all their cards on the field where they are most vulnerable. I know I’ll probably get some hate mail if some cards that I didn’t put on the list that you think should have been. But remember I did try not to put most of the obvious cards on the list. I really believe that every one of my cards in my burner deck are number 1 because without all of them I wouldn’t have a good burner deck. I know this is really long but I need to mention one more thing. People try to be original. I play at a store that usually has 60 some people per tournament and I think I am the only person that runs a burner deck. Granted that I do run another deck. There is an exception to some extent, because there are a few adults that have enough money that they made like every deck you can think of and they use a different deck almost every week. But most people there run gravity binds, and beatdowns, exodia. That’s all. I do have a friend that runs A Legendary Ocean deck (that I made for him) and he has gotten into the semi finals a few times, I have a cousin that runs a Gearfreed deck with the Blast with Chains and Smoke Grenade of the Thief and 3 ground collapses (made this one for him also) and he has gotten to the quarter finals: which is good for someone who is new to the game and had Gearfreed and Giant Trunade as his rarest cards until he pulled a Yata-Garasu in the pack he got for entering the tournament. I have another friend that runs a Destiny Board deck and has gotten to the semi-finals with it. And I run a unique Gravity Bind with Gilasauris and Airknight Parshath. What I’m trying to get at is I look at deck reports and most of them look the exact same. The beatdowns are almost identical, the gravity Binds look the same as Someguy’s GB deck. If you where to put my Gravity Bind deck next to every Gravity Bind deck in the deck reports there would be some similar cards but they would look nothing alike. I’m not saying you shouldn’t build these decks just put your own twist on it. I laughed so hard when I put a Skull Servant in my deck and powered in up and beat the rank 5 guy in the store with it. I've gotten to the finals with my Gravity Bind deck. I’ve gotten to the Semi’s with my burner deck. I also have a chain energy deck that I’ve gotten into the semi’s with. That proves that you don’t need to build a regular Gravity Bind, or Beatdown, or Exodia to win. I also have my future decks planed out. XYZ Fusion Series deck and a Harpie Deck once Cyber Harpie comes out. Please people be original or put some unique cards in your deck. Seeing the same decks over and over again in the tournament reports gets old. And thanks for reading my first posted message. You got some e-mail to send me. You can swear all you want at me. You can threaten to kill me if you want I could care less. But if you e-mail I will try to e-mail you back as soon as I can iTsHiMaGaiN_1@hotmail.com
