  Amenhotep
- Dark Pharaoh

Card # MAV-164

Reservist

Whenever Amenhotep becomes stunned, if he is visible, you may recover him. If you do, move him to your hidden area, and he cannot move to the visible area this turn.

Amenhotep - Dark Pharaoh

Today we come to a card that can be slightly debated for a reservist deck - Amenhotep.

Some people like to include Amenhotep in their reservist build simply for his automatic recovery effect. I, on the other hand, tend to shy away from this card simply because I like to try to stay within a single team affiliation when it comes to a reservist deck so that I can get the most out of my PT's and locations. That is not to say this card is bad in any way...it just isn't for everyone. This card's auto-recovery makes him a good back-up 5-drop, but I say stick to the main team affiliation you are working with...you will probably get more out of you deck in the long run...

Ratings:
MMA constructed - 3.0/5.0 ...This character is a good alternative 5-drop
GA constructed - 2.5/5.0 ...Once this guy goes to the concealed area you open your field up to attack...

Limited - 4.0/5.0 ...Having a character that automatically recovers is gold in this format.

Amenhotep

Not much to say about today's card. He was a nice backup 5-drop because of his reservist status, and having him in the hidden area isn't bad, since it guarantees a swing back on off-init. However, She Hulk and Sub-Mariner are both better options at 5, so Amenhotep should be seeing no play at all in a competitive Avengers deck.

As far as limited play goes, he's a very average 5-drop, and his ability is more of a hinderance than a bonus. He's a very late pick, and only if you either really need a spare 5 or a spare reservist.
