Barbara Gordon <>
Batgirl - Guardian of Gotham
Today we are going to move onto a slightly more
useful card for a GK deck - Barbara Gordon -
Ok..before I begin this review, let me say just
one thing...this card should only be considered
in a mono - Gotham Knights deck that is centered
around Wayne Enterprises. Otherwise, stay away
from this card and keep your deck focused on
more worthy GK cards. Do not put this card into
a BB deck. If you do and it doesn't work then I
told you so!
Whew! Sorry about that. I guess you could say I
am not a big fan of this card.
Anyways....Barbara Gordon is a decent card from
the new set for the GK decks. As a 4/4 3-drop,
this card is definately on par. She also has a
really good effect, provided you have set up
your deck accordingly so that you can take full
advantage of it. This card's effect basically
states that if an equipped GK character stuns an
opponent's character then you get to draw a
card. The big thing to notice is that this card
does not state whether your opponent's character
has to be an attacker or defender. That
definately makes this card more appealing.
However, don't be tempted to just throw some
equipment into the latest version of you GK deck
and four of these cards. Adding equipment to a
GK deck can be very tricky since you have to
make room for it and usually you will end up
cutting some useful plot twists in the process.
It is pretty much out of the question for a BB
GK constructed deck - 3.0/5.0 ...However, in a
deck centered around Wayne Enterprises this card
is a must!
Limited - 1.0/5.0 ...It is hard enough getting
another GK character in this format, much less
an equipped one, and her stats by themselves are
Barbara Gordon <>
Batgirl - 1of the newest GK 3 drop in this set.
Here you see is the original Batgirl, Barbara
Gordon. Yes she is Commissioner Gordon’s
daughter. VS. players are more familiar with her
adult version of Oracle . Here is her youthful
version prior to getting paralyzed by The Joker.
You have an average 4/4 for this 3 drop without
flight or range. Her power is that whenever your
equipped GK character stuns an opponents
character you get to draw a card.
Constructed: 2/5 - You probably want to be
playing Batman as your 3 drop in this format,
however this card does add to the GK theme of
draw power but it wont be enough draw power to
justify Batgirl as your 3 drop.
Limited: 1/5 – With such limited GK characters
available her power will be useless. Her stats
are avg for 3 drop and you probably want someone
with the same team affiliation as the team you
Barbara Gordon <>
Batgirl, Guardian of Gotham
Barbara Gordon has decent stats, but an effect
that's going to be fairly tough to pull off.
Equipment still isn't that popular in VS outside
of a couple of specialized decks. Granted,
Gotham Knights has a nice piece of 0 cost
equipment in Utility Belt, if you don't mind
sacrificing the space in your deck.
Considering the extra card draw you'll get from
a successful use of her effect, it might just be
worth it. Other than Batman, there aren't a lot
of great 3 drops for GK, so putting her in and
keeping her around for her effect might just
work in a straight GK build.
In Limited, there aren't enough Gotham Knights
to really get much mileage out of her effect,
but with Metropolis showing up in a lot of
packs, you might take a flyer on her, if you're
a gambling type. Her stats aren't that special
though, take her near the end of the pack.
