Void Apocalypse
– #ETCO-EN065

You can discard 1 card; send 1 Fiend monster from your Deck to the GY. You can send this face-up card from your Spell & Trap Zone to the GY; send “Infernoid” monsters with different names from your hand and/or Deck to the GY, up to the number of monsters your opponent controls that were Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. You can only use 1 “Void Apocalypse” effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Void Apocalypse is Fiend support but mostly just for Infernoid.

Usually you wouldn’t like a -1 net card: playing this, hope it doesn’t get destroyed, discard to Foolish Burial a Fiend, but certain decks like Infernoid and Infernity like that kind of thing. Infernity decks don’t like cards in their hand and Infernoids need their graveyards filled with other Infernoid monsters. You can send this face-up on the field to the grave and get yourself a larger Foolish Burial for Infernoid monsters. The problem with that is you are depending on your opponent to have Extra Deck monsters on the field, and those usually come with negation abilities. If you are shotgunning this card out there it is likely to get negated. If you play it first and have it sit on the field, it is likely to get destroyed. However, if you can pop it with a few Extra Deck monsters on the field of your opponents, you can fill up your grave with Infernoids to banish. The lower level Infernoid monsters need one Infernoid to banish, so to get things started you’ll need at least one Infernoid in the grave, and that is where this comes into play.

Advanced-3/5- The payoff can be big, but how often is your opponent going to let that happen?

Next up this week is Infernoid support that can benefit generic Fiends if you wish: Void Apocalypse.

Void Apocalypse is a Continuous Spell with the first effect to discard a card to send any Fiend from your Deck to the graveyard. The obvious Infernoid synergy is here since you want Infernoids in grave to banish them to summon your other Infernoids, or in the case of the higher Level monsters you can revive from grave. I do appreciate generic Fiend support, meaning this does work with something like Infernity to get Archfiend in grave to revive off Necromancer, or Heiress in grave to search for Infernity Archfiend. There’s probably other Fiend Decks that can use this, but Infernoid and Infernity are the first two to come to mind. The next effect is exclusive to Infernoids as you can send this face-up card to the grave from the Spell/Trap Zone in order to send Infernoid monsters with different names from your hand and/or Deck to the graveyard up to the number of monsters the opponent controls that were Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. Another nice effect to benefit Infernoids to fill the graveyard to help summon your big Infernoid bosses. You should be able to at least get 1 or 2 cards off this, but the more is always the merrier in Infernoids. You only get one effect per turn and only once that turn, I guess to prevent too much Deck thinning. At the very least you can discard for the first effect to dump and then send this off Void Feast to summon 3 from Deck, likely 2 Decatrons and their Level 6. It’s a nice piece of support for Fiends and another good option that’s searchable in Infernoids.

Void Apocalypse is an interesting card.  It’s a Continuous Magic and Fiend support.  Although that’s mostly for Infernoids.  Discarding a card from your Hand lets you dump a Fiend from your Deck to the Graveyard.  Nothing wrong here.  Dumping any card helps about anyone.
Sending this face up card from your M/T Zone lets you discard as many Infernoids from your Hand and/or Deck (all of different names) which allows you to destroy the same number of your opponent’s Special Summoned Monsters.
Which IS good.  My big problem with this is I feel you’re only getting a big wipe or payoff with this if your opponent grossly over extended.  All the discarding and dumping here helps the Theme.  But you’re all ready discarding just for the first effect.  Playing this itself still has you at a -1.
There is certainly some potential here, but this seems more of a ‘reward the player for falling in a hole’ type card, and I’m not a fan of that.  Plus, I just don’t think it does enough that I’d use it.

Art:  4/5  The picture, while a bit jumbled, is pretty cool.
