Hello Pojo Fans,

Triple Tactics Talent is our Throwback Thursday choice and one of the hotter Side Deck choices to be released in the last few years.

Not really fair to identify this as a Side Deck choice as many players run this in their Main Deck in a set, however you see it mostly as a great side choice. Much like its successor: Triple Tactics Thrust, Talents is meant to recoup a loss of yours because of an opponent. You need your opponent to interact with you in a negative way for you to activate Talent, and while that is easily done, you’d like it if they didn’t have to do anything. Regardless, after your opponent activates an effect during your Main Phase, this goes online and you can do one of three things, all of which are great. Drawing two cards is the best of the two unless you are low on cards/unable to draw that many. Taking one of their monsters until the End Phase is incredibly useful if you are in a simplified game and they are low on LP or by taking their monster would give you a needed monster for Extra Deck plays. Shuffling back a card in their hand is pretty good, and useful more in the beginning of the game, like even on the first turn if they were to respond to one of your opening plays. Seeing their hand is an overpowered thing, especially if done on the first turn like previously mentioned. All of these choices will get you to even or further than you previously were, but I feel like drawing two cards is the best.

Triple Tactics Talent remains a huge Side Deck option and with Thrust in the game one could see both of them played in sets potentially to go alongside other Side Deck options. You could play Thrust just for Talent, however the more targets for Thrust the better your options of overpowering your opponent. On its own, Talent is a great card and will always be a Side Deck option unless there’s an even better version of it brought out (Quick-Play).

Throwback Thursday this week gives us a card that isn’t too old, but is the precedent for the card we saw yesterday: Triple Tactics Talent.

TTT 1 is a Normal Spell that can only be used if the opponent activated a monster effect during your Main Phase this turn, letting you either draw 2 cards, take control of an opponent’s monster until the End Phase, or look at the opponent’s hand to shuffle a card of your choice from it into the Deck. So your options are 2 banned cards (Pot of Greed and The Forceful Sentry) or you can go for a card that just recently became Limited and is unknown how long it’ll be until it goes up any more (Change of Heart). The draw 2 is good to get you to more resources to make your plays, though a bit of a gamble. You can steal the opponent’s monster, which in this case doesn’t target which is nice, to use said monster against the opponent to make a play or OTK. If you fear more hand traps, you can use the final effect to snipe one from the opponent’s hand so you got 1 less issue to worry about, or take a play enabler from the opponent’s hand to make their turn harder to get value out of. The activation cost is more restrictive, but not that much and you get 3 power cards from 1 in this, which is searchable by what we looked at yesterday. Another great card that’ll probably see play for a long time.

Art: 3/5 When you see Thrust, you kinda don’t care for the more basic artwork.
