Hello Pojo Fans,

Tri-Brigade Fraktall starts us off for Tri-Brigade week.

This monster is the combo starter to get to your Link 4. Foolish Burial off it being sent to the grave by you to bury a Level 3 or lower Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast monster. Having that many Types applicable to this card means it can be used in many other decks as a graveyard setup card. In its own archetype Fraktall will send “Nervall” to the grave, which can search something for you, you’ll add “Kerass” and summon it and use the effect all Main Deck Tri-Brigade have to Special Summon a Link Monster via banishing materials. Special Summon “Ferrijit” and get a free Special Summon from the hand with her. Then you just Link climb using your Tri-Brigade monsters into “Shuraig”. Pretty good combo getting a Link 4 off one card that can be searched by something like Tenki.

Link Monsters summoned via Tri-Brigade banishing aren’t able to be brought back though because they weren’t summoned correctly, however you can always recycle them back with something like Avarice. The Link Monsters have respectable attack and there’s a ton of support backing these Types, but so far there’s two Beast, one Beast-Warrior, and one Winged Beast in the Main Deck and the same ratio for the Extra Deck, so dedicating support will revolve around cards that cover all those Types (Horn of The Phantom Beast). It’s always great to see a monster in an archetype that can get to their most powerful monster in a simple fashion, and that is what Fraktall does. It is the monster you want to see turn one.

Potentially splashable in Beast, Winged Beast, and Beast-Warrior decks, a must in the archetype.

We now analyze the Beast, Beast-Warrior, and Winged Beast accessories with the Tri-Brigade archetype and start with probably the main starter for the Tri-Brigade package: Tri-Brigade Fraktall.

Fraktall is a Level 4 FIRE Beast-Warrior with 1900 ATK and 1600 DEF. Those are some strong stats for a Level 4, and FIRE/Beast-Warrior gives Tenki and Fire Fist synergy, which is pretty good. You can send Fraktall from the hand or field to the graveyard to send any Level 3 or lower Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast from the Deck to the graveyard. Within Tri-Brigade alone you get a free send for Tri-Brigade Kitt to trigger her to send Tri-Brigade Nervall, who will then search for Tri-Brigade Kerass for a free body on board. If anything, it’s an instant Apollousa since each Tri-Brigade has the second effect to banish Beasts, Beast-Warriors, or Winged Beasts from the graveyard to Special Summon a Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast Link with an equal Link Rating to the number of banished monsters, but you can only use Beasts, Beast-Warriors, or Winged Beasts as material for the rest of the turn. That restriction isn’t that bad since you’re likely using mostly Beasts, Beast-Warriors, and/or Winged Beasts and you’re only locked to using those as material instead of summoning them. Again, you got Kerass and 3 Tri-Brigades in grave for a Link-3 to make a 2 material Apollousa if you want to make sure you plays go through a Nibiru. Other than Kitt or Nervall to send, you got various different ways to use this like starting a Fire Fist combo with a Spirit in hand to send Leopard or most likely a Rooster to revive off the Spirit you Normal Summon. You could send Kalantosa to revive off some other Beast effect to get that free pop. Any Level 1 being sent could set up Kinka-byo being Normal Summoned. You could also send any Lyrilusc to trigger Turquoise Warbler’s summon effect. Also you could send any of the low level Simorghs to revive themselves. Expanding the cards you look at could also find other good targets for this to send, so there’s likely more possibilities. Each effect is a hard once per turn, which is fairly balanced for how strong this can be. Overall it’s a good card to start your Tri-Brigade plays, or you can extend outside the archetype if needed for the three types. Also having your graveyard help summon Links is really good. Tri-Brigade is a good archetype, and this is their best card in the Main Deck.

I’m here on time for Tri-Brigade week, which begins with Fraktall.  Fire is supported decently, Beast-Warrior is rather well, and 1900 attack on a Level 4 is excellent.  (1600 defense is good too).  This cards first effect covers many Types, which helps make it playable in various other Themes as well, which I appreciate.  Sending this to your Graveyard lets you send a Level 3 or below Beast/Beast Warrior/Winged Beast from your Deck to the Grave.  Also helpful this card can be sent from your Hand or Field.  So it’s very easy to accomplish.  Removing any number of the above mentioned Types from play let’s you Special Summon a Link Monster from the Extra Deck.  Said Monster has to have a Link Rating equal to the number removed.  A bit more specific but that means you control the timing on this effect and have to build to what you want.  See again the first effect.  You can only use the mentioned Types for Link Summon the rest of that Turn.  But that’s inconsequential regardless of the specific Deck you’re running   Just be smart and set for your play to capitalize off it.  Good attacker, lots of great combos and extra Deck plays here too.

Art:  4.5/5  Almost there.  Great picture though.  Ominous and foreboding.
