Hello Pojo Fans,

Time Thief Winder starts off a Time Thief week on Pojo, and this is an archetype that mixes Machine and Psychic types.

The archetype is all Level 4 and DARK, so synergy isn’t a question. Winder’s ability to Special Summon itself off your Xyz monster(s) detaching materials can be used offensively on your turn, or defensively if your Xyz has a quick-effect (Redoer). Winder is the searcher for the deck, except itself, standard restriction. Getting a search off a Special or Normal Summon is preferable, but not all archetype searchers have it. You get a search and a Special Summon off something your Xyz is supposed to do, in addition to its own detach effect. Rank 4 decks as well as its own archetype would like Winder if you also played a few Time Thief cards to search. Not just monsters off the search, again a great effect when searching. Yes, you can only search three cards currently, but that doesn’t matter, there should be more eventually and you’ll need this to be flexible. Winder will set up your next play if done on your opponents turn or extend your plays on your turn.

Cogs and Combos this time. Time Thief Winder is a Level 4 Dark Psychic-type monster with 1800 Atk and 1300 Def. Plain stats are good. Level 4 should have 1800 Atk and Dark has tons of support. If you detach a material from an XYZ monster on your field, you get to Special Summon Winder from your hand. Alternate summoning methods are greatly appreciated, especially during turn two so you can Ask for 1800 more. Upon Normal or Special Summon you get to search any Time Thief card from the deck except another copy of Winder. Basically, Winder is good during turn one or two as an initial summon or as an attacker. Each effect is a hard once per turn, but that makes sense with such a versatile card. Time Thief Winder is an interesting throwback to an easier XYZ time. This is how resource management should look. Run all 3. Happy Monday!

The final Savage Strike cards we look at, at least for now, is the Time Thief archetype that sadly didn’t get supported in the Dark Neostorm set, which is strange since that was an Xyz set, however here we are with Time Thief Winder.

Winder is a Level 4 DARK Psychic with 1800 ATK and 1300 DEF. Stats are very satisfying on a Level 4, DARK is a lovely attribute, and Psychic is better on Level 3 or lower monsters for the obvious reason. You can detach a material from an Xyz Monster you control to Special Summon this card from your hand, which should be easy since this is a deck focused on Xyz Summoning, and the Time Thief boss won’t mind detaching his materials for his effect since he likely won’t keep them all as you gain more of them. Upon being Normal or Special Summoned, Winder can search for any Time Thief card from the deck just as long as it isn’t another Winder, so it’s a searcher and every archetype wants one of these. You can get the other monsters or the Trap that’ll put a Time Thief card in your deck on a Time Thief Xyz as well as banish itself from the grave to take a card from the opponent’s grave and put it on your Xyz as material. Winder’s effects are hard once per turns, so you can’t Xyz Summon too much assuming you get Link Monsters out or your Xyz leaves the Extra Monster Zone, and having too much searching can get insanely overpowered. Winder is a three of in Time Thief variants and it gives the archetype some strong future potential when it’s revisited.

It’s Time Thief week!  We open things off with the general searcher for the Deck, in Time Thief Winder.  Level 4, Dark, and a Psychic Monster, with a solid 1800 defense to boot, and 1000 defense.  This card can Special Summon itself from your Hand by detaching an XYZ Material from a Monster you control.  If Normal or Special Summoned via that manner, you get any Time Thief card from your Deck added to your Hand.

Each effect here, is naturally, once per turn.  So no bringing out more than one via that effect, and that also limits you to retrieving one theme specific card a turn.  But that’s appropriate, too much to be able to abuse if it weren’t restricted in that manner.  Of course, too, you can’t search for another Winder, but that’s hardly an issue to be upset about.  Use and abuse to its potential, in multiples, if not 3s.

Art:  4/5  Very bland, while still managing to interest me.  I like the cogs, which suggest time travel, and I like the dark outfit, coupled with the bright/grey hair, and the brief purple, and blue scarf.
