The Revived Sky God – #MP22-EN273

The activation of this card, or its effects, cannot be negated, nor can its effects be negated. Special Summon 1 “Slifer the Sky Dragon” from your GY, then each player draws until they have 6 cards in their hand. You can banish this card from your GY; place 1 “Monster Reborn” from your Deck or GY on top of your Deck, then, if a Divine-Beast monster is in your GY, draw 1 card. You can only use each effect of “The Revived Sky God” once per turn.

2022 tins completing the tablet with the piece containing the God Cards was of course going to bring Egyptian God support, and we got one of the new cards here today with The Revived Sky God.

Revived Sky God is a Normal Trap whose activation and effects cannot be negated, which is a plus, and almost feels like a guarantee for something supporting an Egyptian God. The card overall lets you Special Summon a Slifer the Sky Dragon from your graveyard and then each player draws until they have 6 cards in their hand. It’s a nice way to revive Slifer back onto the board with 6000 ATK, even if he isn’t going to stay long with his own effect. Giving your opponent cards might be the most notable downside here, though that is because this is mimicking anime Card of Sancity, but you could always avoid that by using this when the opponent draws for turn and likely has the most amount of cards they’ll have in hand for the turn while you can just draw 6. You do have to get Slifer in the graveyard for this to be usable, but it isn’t impossible to do that. The second effect lets you banish this card from the graveyard to place a Monster Reborn from your Deck or graveyard on top of your Deck, and then if you have a Divine-Beast in your graveyard, you can draw a card (which of course will be the Monster Reborn). Kind of an convoluted way to search for Monster Reborn, but it’s nice and there’s a high chance the Divine-Beast is in your graveyard if you’re playing this since you need to put Slifer there to activate this on field and he goes back there at the end of the turn he was Special Summoned. Hard once per turn on each effect, cause Konami wants to ensure you aren’t drawing 6 or getting to Monster Reborn too much. It’s a good card for Slifer honestly, and it can work in a mill strategy. Slifer is a solid card that makes it hard for the opponent to make plays since their smaller monsters are most likely getting destroyed by Slifer. If you run Slifer in any way, I imagine a card like this might be the main reasoning for doing so now.

Advanced Rating: 3.5/5

Art: 5/5 Nice throwback to the final duel between Yugi Muto and Yami Yugi. Silent Magician vs Slifer the Sky Dragon, both require you to get cards in hand mainly.
