Hello Pojo Fans,

Tearlaments Kashtira wraps up the week on Pojo and it seems that Kitkallos got a makeover.

Level 7 like most Kashtira monsters, TK can Special Summon herself pretty easily if you have a spare Tearlament or Kashtira card to banish in the hand or grave. Much like Scareclaw Kashtira, this is a great Special Summon effect that makes this card an extender into Rank 7 plays as well as attacking.

When you Special Summon TK, or Normal Summon (though not sure why you’d do that), you get a mill of 3 off either Deck, reminiscent of her Tearlament routes. Kashtira enjoy banishing and depriving the opponent of resources, and Tearlaments enjoy sending stuff to the grave. While this card doesn’t banish, you can also use it to mill your cards to the grave and set yourself up for more Special Summons, or get to your Tearlament cards, or helper card (Ishizu monsters). Combining this with Runick Spells will put a strain on the opponent’s deck, even if this were to give their graveyard three cards.

If TK hits the grave via a card effect you get a mill of two from your Deck. This is a mill of five total for the Tearlaments archetype. In Tearlaments it works naturally within the strategy of mill and Fusion Summon. Within Kashtira it can extend and get you another Level 7 for Xyz Summons, while getting cards in the grave to banish. The mill alongside Arise-Heart will become a banish three for either deck and banish two for yourself if TK would hit the grave.

The Kashtira monsters are splashable in many decks and the two variations we’ve reviewed this week can work the same way if you run a certain amount of Tearlament or Kashtira cards. This, like Scareclaw earlier this week is to ensure you get to your Rank 7 turn one.

The week ends off with the best Tearlaments monster to mill that remains at 3 to this day as Tearlaments also join Kashtira to become Tearlaments Kashtira.

Tearlaments Kashtira is a Level 7 WATER Psychic with 2300 ATK and 1200 DEF. Stats are okay-ish for a Level 7, WATER is pretty good, and same goes for Psychic. So we got the same summoning condition from Monday, only you swap out Scareclaw for Tearlaments. You don’t really want to banish Tearlaments monsters, but banishing the Spells and Traps should be fine. Upon Normal or Special Summon, you can make either player of your choice send the top 3 cards of their Deck to the graveyard, which will more likely be you if you’re playing Tearlaments to hopefully trigger some effects, or the opponent if you’re playing Kashtira and already control Arise-Heart to banish said cards. The other effect also lets you mill 2 cards if it’s sent to the graveyard by a card effect, so it gives you more milling if you end up milling it, which Tearlaments could use right now. Every effect is a hard once per turn, which is more fitting on this card to keep it fair enough. It’s pretty solid for Tearlaments and helps make a Tearlaments Kashtira variant work actually, which it did better in the OCG before all the Tearlaments and Kashtira hits. Kashtira Tearlaments might be the best way to play Tearlaments now with all 3 Fusion Summoners being at 1 alongside every Ishizu card as well, not to mention Kitkallos being banned. Either way, probably play 3 of this in Tearlaments right now.

Finishing our weekday Visas coverage is Tearlaments Kashtira; much like Scareclaw Kashtira, it’s cross support for the Tearlaments and Kashtira archetypes, and can be searched by their respective in-house searchers as a result. Being a level 7 WATER Psychic monster, it has more in common with Kashtira monsters than Tearlaments monsters, and ironically is difficult to use for some bread and butter Tearlaments endboard pieces like Predaplant Dragostapelia due to being neither Aqua nor DARK. With 2300 attack and 1200 defense, its stats are very middling for a level 7 monster, but it can deal a bit of damage in a jam.

Tearlaments Kashtira has three hard once per turn effects; the first is a Quick Effect identical to Scareclaw Kashtira, letting you Special Summon it from your hand during either player’s Main Phase, banishing a Tearlaments or Kashtira monster you control afterward. And just like with Scareclaw Kashtira, this means you can search and summon it for free off of Kashtira Fenrir. Tearlaments Kashtira’s second effect lets you send the top three cards of either player’s deck to the Graveyard if it’s Normal or Special Summoned; the vast majority of the time you’ll be milling your own deck since this card’s primary home is in Tearlaments decks, helping you trigger all that good stuff. Finally, Tearlaments Kashtira takes after its host monster by letting sending the top two cards of your deck to the Graveyard if it’s sent to the Graveyard by a card effect. While it’s awkward to use it as Fusion material, it’s not impossible, since Tearlaments Rulkallos will still take any Tearlaments name as its second Fusion material. The powerful consistency boost off of Kashtira Fenrir was one of the main reasons Tearlaments were still the top deck in the OCG despite being slaughtered on the banlist; by the time we got Tearlaments Kashtira in the TCG, the deck had already been hit harder than it was in the OCG. Tearlaments might be flying under the radar for now, but Tearlaments Kashtira is a much-needed boost for the deck after multiple big hits.
