Top 10 Minis of 2008

#7

Jar Jar Binks
KOTOR

Date Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009

Sith Dragon #7 Jar Jar Binks

I dont think anyone has polarized the star wars universe than Jar Jar Binks, who was #4 on my list. You seem to either love him or hate him with very little in between. When we finally found out that Jar Jar was indeed on the way, many groaned, but yet some cheered. In the movies he was nothing abut a bumbling boob that, while meaning well, always seemed to screw things up or make things go awry. This is what many of us wanted in a mini and we were not disappointed. Jar Jar as a mini is just as annoying and a pain in the butt as the figure in the movies.

Jar Jar has no real offense of his own, but what he does do is make you attack yourself. Gencon was the premiere of Jar Jar in major play, and almost immediately in sealed play cries arose with stories of Jar Jar just made Vader kill himself or Luke Just killed himself because of Jar Jar. It was the perfect piece with the perfect effect.

Whether it be by name or ability, there is no doubt that Jar Jar is a top figure of 2008. They dont come any more annoying than Jar Jar. For Friday we look at what happens when you clone a star.

Falling at #7 on the countdown Jar Jar Binks fit the exact mold I saw him in.  Living or dieing on saves.  But when paired with Yoda CS,  making those saves becomes a lot easier and makes beating him a hard and annoying piece to play against as some members at the Wizards forums expressed.  One thing I think of when I see Jar Jar is that he is only piece I can think that truly makes having accurate shot a hinderance.  How many commanders and games have been lost due to accurate shot one of the best abilities in the game, more than enough to count.  One problem for Jar Jar though is that with the release of  Yobuck people will be playing him which of course means not playing Yoda CS which is what made Jar Jar so good but other than that nothing has changed for Jar Jar since his release.
