Today we look at Anakin's new apprentice. A lot of
people seem to not like this figure very much. I for
one love her. First off she is 20 points. Keep that
in mind - 20 points! You have a very solid HP. Her
defense is outstanding at 20. Her attack is a measly
+7, but again consider she is only 20pts.
Ahsoka's abilities are a nice mix. She of course has
double attack. Flurry attack is always nice, but is
never anything you can rely on. Impulsive sweep can
be nice, bu ta wise opponent will manage this and
make it near worthless. To capitalize on this, you
will want to run nothing but uniques for the most
part. The final ability i left for last because it
is supposed to be a huge plus for her, but right now
it is a major zero. Ahsoka has synergy with
characters named Anakin. Well, duh right!? She is
her apprentice after all, but reread that. It is
with a character NAMED anakin. Per the rules when an
ability uses the character named X, then it only
works with a character that has that EXACT name.
Currently we have no characters named Anakin, and
for whatever we have no errata for the CW set. She
should be boosted to a +11 ATK, but until we figure
out what Rob meant with the Synergy, she doesnt get
it.
Finally her force is limited, but for 20 points she
has exactly what i would want. 3 Force points with
deflect really helps her live long enough to see the
fight.
100pts: She wont be much help here. She will die
just too fast against the major hitters of the this
level.
150/200pts: Here she is very playable. If you are
looking for low cost Jedi she is pretty good. She
wont win games, but she can definitely earn her
points, which is what you want. I love running her
with the new General Kenobi with other low cost
characters like Jarael, Barriss, Momaw, Juhani, etc.
There she becomes a 24 DEF/+11 ATK. If her synergy
ever gets fixed, then she could a 24DEF/+15ATK. Tell
me that isnt worth 20 points. She is a step in the
right direction for the return of low cost Jedi
swarms.

Today’s mini of the day is Ahsoka Tano a
nice little 20 point Jedi for the Republic however
does she trump the JWM master???
I personally think she doesn’t her stats
aren’t quite as good as the JWM she loses 30 Hit
Points and 5 attack (only 1 attack when using
synergy) she does gain 1 defense but she loses
Duelist. Her stats are good just not as good as the
JWM which is a piece she will always be compared to.
However, if you want a diverse mix of
Jedi plus some new abilities she is probably the
best alternative to the JWM. But as far as if it’s
worth it? I would say no not only are her stats not
as good she also loses quite abit of abilities
(Assault, Block, Riposte, Duelist, and Sweep) she
does gain some abilities (Synergy, Impulsive Sweep,
and Flurry) and those are all situational and will
have less of an impact that the JWM’s abilities.
If you don’t have enough points to put
that JWM in you wanted then definitely she is viable
but that’s about it.
100: 2/5 Here she will be eaten by the hard hitters
of this format.
150/200: 1.5/5 The JWM should always be taken over
her. She would be a good piece if it weren’t for
the JWM but the fact that the option is there makes
her a piece that won’t see much use.
