The Lonesome Stranger
Stranger here with a review of General Grievous, Supreme Commander.
Conveniently, I took a look at my Grievous, with a sad, grievous thought, and said, "Wow, this piece is (since the release of Champions, and Alliance, and with the coming Force Unleashed) absolutely useless. Having taken a backseat to units like Darth Maul and all forms of Sidious in Separatist play, he should only be used in desperate situations, those being when the aforementioned pieces are unavailable, or if you feel like losing. Though not worth the 43, he does have what-used-to-be-impressive 100 HP, which means he'd last 2 turns TOPS against the new beatsticks, more likely one. The only redeeming quality is his Commander Effect, granting Non-unique droids an extra attack, which does come in handy for Super Battle Droids, if you can manage to hit anything with them. Time after time I tried to give Grievous a second shot, but this was t ono avail. For those of us who had purchased this figure with the RotS starter (most likely the majority), were disapointed at the fact, though a point higher, Grievous never seemed to fight as hard or as skillfully as Kenobi. Disappointed time after time, never seeming to fight well enough. On top of that, if you wanted to (in a 100 point squad) to use Super Battle Droids, only 5 were available, making points left over. At the time the best that could fit in that were any combination of two: battle droid 4, ewok 3, Geonosian Drone 3, Tusken Raider 4, Gran Raider 4, and... well... that was it, and a few sevens but they were horrible, need I remind of the Twi'lek Scoundrel 7? -Sighs- Now we have a few more choices like the Ugnaut Demolitionist and maybe the Aqualish Assassin. Though I dwelled too much on that choice, there really doesnt seem to be any other that fits Grievous' unique (thank the deity of your choice [or lack thereof]) talents. In 200 you could throw Durge, any Sidious or maybe Maul to help him out, but there is little/no hope for this figure.

Grievous gets a 1/5 in 100/150/200
He just stinks, thats all there is to it.

CE all non unique droid followers within 6 squares gain +4 attack and double attack

This is one of the minor pieces of the three that give the seperatist droids their power. This is namly because of his cost. With 43 points he takes up as much as a droid starfighter in walking mode. he is key in a squad with battle droids in just for activations. He gives them +12 to hit (this includes battle droid officer and super battle droid commander.) and double attack. This maximizes their damage output. But if you don't already have battle droid officer in you sqad I would suggest taking grevious out for a Geanosian Overseer and an officer.

100/150 1/5 droids don't do much here

200 4/5 only use him in mass droid squades where you need +12 to everyones attack.
