Stardust Synchron – #DAMA-EN002

If this card is in your hand or GY: You can Tribute 1 monster; Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field, also, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Synchro Monsters. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand that specifically lists “Stardust Dragon” in its text. Hello Pojo Fans,

Stardust Synchron reminds me of Debris Dragon.

While it won’t be Special Summoning a monster from the grave it can get you a spell/trap search for the “Stardust” archetype. Level 4 Tuner that can Special Summon itself is alright if you aren’t quite there for a Synchro Summon and need a few levels. The downside though is you lock yourself into Synchro Summons from the Extra Deck for the turn and it’s the idea of tributing a monster for a Level 4, even if it is a higher level Tuner. Of all the targets for Stardust Synchron to search, tomorrow’s card: Arrive in Light may be the best to search. It isn’t a trap so you will be able to play it straight-away, and, of the spells left, Arrive in Light does the most versus Stardust Illumination.

Stardust Synchron banishes itself when it leaves the field after being Special Summoned, not a bad restriction especially with it being able to Special Summon itself from the grave with its tribute effect. Coincidentally, one of the cards it searches: Stardust Illumination, could place it in the grave for you to activate its effect. Stardust Synchron is good for making a quick Stardust Dragon or any Level 8 Synchro Monster. The lack of restricting it to a “Stardust Dragon” or monster with “Stardust Dragon” in its name makes Stardust Synchron is a decent splashable Tuner choice, you just won’t be using its search effect.

Part Stardust archetype, part Synchron archetype, Stardust Synchron can make getting to big Synchro Monsters much easier by using smaller monsters as tribute fodder. Much like how Debris Dragon would Special Summon smaller monsters (ATK wise), Stardust Synchron uses likely smaller monsters to get to the field and Synchro Summon bigger ones.

Advanced-3/5- Back in the day you’d search Starlight Road with this card.

Now a new Synchron to add to the toolbox is always good, especially with Junk Speeder around, so let’s welcome Stardust Synchron.

Stardust Synchron is a Level 4 LIGHT Machine Tuner with 1500 ATK and 1000 DEF. Stardust’s stats minus 1000 is fine I guess, LIGHT is still great and Machine is a good Typing. Also Level 4 Tuner for Synchrons is good to replace the old options of Bri Synchron and Hyper Synchron. Anyways, if this card is in your hand or graveyard, you can tribute a monster to summon this card, but it’s banished when it leaves the field. Tributing to get a Level 4 Tuner back from grave sounds good, espeically if you’re generating enough monsters to use as Synchro Material anyways, which Synchrons can do. The banish bit is a piece of balance as well. Upon being Normal or Special Summoned, you can search for any Spell/Trap that lists Stardust Dragon in this text from Deck to hand. Nice to access some old and new cards. A Starlight Road searcher sounds nice, but you’re likely using this in Synchrons and don’t want to use Traps. At least we got 2 new Spells in Arrive in Light and Stardust Illumination that we can make good use of in the Deck. Also appreciate we can trigger this effect when its summoned with Junk Speeder. Hard once per turn on both effects, which is fair especially since you can summon this multiple times a turn, and you don’t want that revive to lack the HOPT clause. Anyways, it’s a good Synchron to add to the Synchron strategy alongside Junk Synchron, Satellite Synchron, Cyberse Syncrhon, etc.

Next up is Stardust Synchron, a Light/Machine (evident but counter productive, yet still a nice pair) also a Tuner, and 1500/1000 atk/def.  Not the worst, but not great on a Level 4.  So, this card can be Special Summoned from your Hand or Grave by Tributing a Monster, and it’s removed from play when it leaves the Field if brought by said effect.  No huge worry there, as long as you get it and use it the first time.  You’re locked into only Synchro Extra Deck Summons for the Turn, but that’s not a huge issue either in a build with this.  The money effect here is the latter, where you net any Magic/Trap that has ‘Stardust Dragon’ in its text upon a Normal or Special Summon of this card.  So bringing it out by its first effect nets you the card as well, still letting you +1 even just initially.  Each effect is once per Turn.  Starlight Road immediately comes to mind as to what to fetch, but you do have a nice array of options, and it’s a free card after all.  This card is fast and a delightful combo piece to the Stardust family.  Plus, it’s certainly usable in various builds and with others being a Tuner, which helps too.
