Rikka Glamour
– #SESL-EN023

When you activate this card, you can also Tribute 1 Plant monster; add 1 “Rikka” monster from your Deck to your hand, then, if you Tributed a monster when you activated this card, add 1 Plant monster, with the same original Level as that “Rikka” monster but a different name, from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 “Rikka Glamour” per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Rikka Glamour may be the best spell/trap of the archetype.

A RoTA for the Rikka archetype, but if you tribute alongside it you get another search. A double search for a single tribute is still a +1 and a good deck thin. The Plant monster has to be a different name but same level as the Rikka you searched, but the Rikka monsters cover several levels, giving you a few options (1, 4, 6, and 8). Alongside Snowdrop you’ll have your extra monster to tribute to get the second search. While the effects of Rikka monsters won’t trigger when tributed for other card effects, you can tribute other things like plant tokens to activate the effects as well. Searching is a must in almost every deck in the game, and if a deck could get a second search from a card they would, even at the cost of a monster. Besides, within the Rikka archetype the lower level monsters can Special Summon themselves from the grave through various ways, negating the negatives of being tributed by their effects or other card effects.

Run in 3’s in the archetype, and if you run a few Rikka monsters alongside plants then you may consider adding one in. Evil Thorn > Tribute Thorn for effect and get two more > Tribute one token for double search from Rikka Glamour.

Next up we have one of the Spells in the archetype: Rikka Glamour.

Glamour is a Normal Spell that upon activation can let you tribute a Plant, which means this is one of few cards I can think of with an optional cost. After activation, this card lets you search a Rikka monster and then if you did tribute a Plant, you can add any Plant with the same Level as the Rikka you add from Deck to hand. So just activating this card gets you one search, but the optional cost gives you two. That’s pretty nice actually to have that option, instead of it making you pay the cost. If you can’t afford it, you simply get a single monster for a play, but if you got the cost you can really get going potentially. There’s no Level 3 Rikka, meaning no Lonefire search off this at all. You got Level 1 for Evil Thorn, Level 4 for something like Lord Poison maybe, Level 6 of which I can’t really think of a Plant outside Rikka worth using, and Level 8 for the Plant Princesses. Either way, it’s a search card, so it’s an important piece for Rikka. It’s a hard once per turn, so not too much searching. It’s a key piece in Rikka that’s actually searchable off one of the Level 6 Rikka monsters, but it’s still a 3-of for consistency.

Advanced Rating: 4.25/5

Art: 4.5/5 I like what’s going on here with Hellebore and Snowdrop.

Midweek brings us to Rikka Glamour, a Normal Magic card used for searching Monsters in the Theme.  This is, or at least should be, a 2-for-2, even if necessary, it could be a 1-for-1.

You get a Theme Monster from this but on activation if you also Tribute a Plant, you get another one of the same Level as the Tributed Monster, which must be of a different name.  Only one Glamour can be used a turn.

One a turn makes sense.  Fetching two Monsters already in a turn is very good.  I like you give up a Monster on the Field, but it’s just as likely one or both here you pick will replace it.  Another very solid card

This is a strong search card with an option to search twice if a Plant monster is tributed at activation. Solid and simple, there’s not much to say about it.

Tokens can be used for the cost, so Black Garden can get momentum going. I used remove brainwashing in my build, so I rarely had an issue having a token to tribute.

The card has balance built into the search limitations. Requiring the two searches to have different names but the same level keeps you from having full toolbox utility, and the HOPT is placed well.

The design on this card is underwhelming and made worse with the Secret Rare foiling. The name and design of the card have little in common on the surface. In addition, the wording is confusing for new players. Similar to many Dark World cards, there should be a simplified way to explain optional effect criteria.

I score this card 5/5. It needs to be run in a Rikka based deck.
