amplify its psycho-power. It does an odd dance to gain control
over foes.
Out
alternate series finally reached its end for now. Today it’s
Grumpig’s turn because of an e-mail I got, so send your

Grumpig
is a pretty decent wall with some special sweeper potential. Its
stats are clearly not the best but psychic types are not to be
taken lightly. I’d
also say thick fat gives it a very good protection against
common used attacks.

movesets for today are…

Nature: Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack).
EV’s: 252 Special attack / 129 Special defense / 129 HP.
- Calm mind
- Psychic
- Shadow ball / HP fighting
- Rest
Calm mind as long as you can, then rest when necessary. Let
chesto activate and sweep as much as you can. HP fighting is a
nice surprise for those nasty dark types. It is an easy set, but
you have to be good timing your rest.

Nature: Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack).
EV’s: 252 Special attack / 129 Special defense / 129 HP.
- Trick
- Psychic
- Shadow ball
- HP fighting
Use the
item if you wish, but if you trick you may get something better
or totally ruin your opponent’s strategy. Then sweep normally.
It is a common set for Grumpig, so don’t expect to surprise your
veteran friends.
Pros.
Grumpig
is a fighter (and a pig), it definitely could use more offensive
stats but it has nice tricks, no doubt about it. Its defensive
strategies are great and even better thanks to thick fat.
Counters.
Be
careful of dark types as Houndoom, Spiritomb and Honchkrow, as
pursuit, shadow ball or good type HP will be fatal against
Grumpig. Strong physical sweepers are going to be a problem as
well if you already have some HP down.
Bottom line.
It’s
been very busy at college, but I’d not miss this chance to get
some quality time writing about one of my favorite things =)
