Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re
reviewing Girafarig, the long neck Pokémon.
Girafarig has a good special attack and decent speed. It is also
able to learn baton pass. Unfortunately you are not going to use
this over other baton passers such as Umbreon or Ninjask because
it has terrible defenses. It has a decent attack stat too but I
think special sweeper is going to be better this time.
It has decent but not great abilities. I like early bird, as
flinching is not as popular as it used to be.
Let’s move on to the move combinations, let’s see what’s up with
this guy…
Girafarig.
Nature: Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack).
Equip: Petaya berry.
EV´s: 252 Special attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP.
- Thunderwave
- Grass knot
- Psychic
- Calm mind
Very simple; use thunderwave and hope for the best. Use calm
mind as much as you can and sweep. If you are lucky enough to
paralyze your opponent for a couple turns or force a non-lethal
switching, you will have a decent amount of special attack and
special defense.
This is the classic speed baton passer. Be very careful. Use it
early in battle and if you are lucky enough to face something
that’s weak against Girafarig, then you are going to have a
couple turns to use agility and then baton pass. I don’t think
you will be able to do this twice in a battle.
When should I use this Pokémon?
Underused battles are becoming a fun way to battle. Use it with
your friends, in a casual environment. This is not for
tournament purposes.
What should I use against this Pokémon?
Forretress and Blissey work perfect. Being a special sweeper and
with little attack options (only 2 offensive moves using our
set) it is pretty easy to avoid or block.
Bottom line:
I like its style and the shiny one looks pretty good to me.
Non-evolving Pokémon as Lapras are good enough. Unfortunately
Girafarig isn’t that good.

I don't even wanna go in what
this looks like and how they came up with it.
Abilities this time is up to you. Either make it immune to
flinching with
Inner Focus or combine Rest with Early Bird because it sleeps
only half the
time needed.
Nature to get the S.Atk. up.
Life Orb to make some extra damage.
Weakness are Bug and Dark. Immune to ghost and resistance to
Psychic, looks
nice.
Calm Mind to Raise Sp.stats.
Psychic is a good Psychic attack and being a STAB to.
Double Kick for the Dark problem.
Rest ONLY if you have Early Bird, else stick with Protect.
To be honest, this one was the hardest to make.
This one sucks, if you want to have fun, go ahead, else I say to
use Pichu
instead of this one.
