				Mr. Mime.
				# 122.
				Type: Psychic.
				Ability: Soundproof / Filter.
Locations: Trade on route 3 (Firered, Leafgreen),
Snag from Cipher Admin Gorigan (XD), Routes 118 and 222
				(Diamond).

Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the
Week. Today we’re reviewing Mr. Mime, the barrier Pokémon.

Mr. Mime is has somehow regained some use with
this new generation. It is a decent Psychic type for you to use
in the game if you don’t like Kadabra (or don’t want to train
one). It has great special defense and special attack and can
learn calm mind so it’s even better. But still, Alakazam is way
				better.

Soundproof is interesting, and Filter is a new
ability that halves the damage done by a super effective attack,
				not too bad, right?

Let’s move on to the move combinations I’ll start
for combinations for the GBA and then combinations for the new
				DP games…

				GBA.
				Mr. Mime.
Nature: Timid (+ Speed, - Attack).
				Equip: Choice band.
				EV´s: 252 Speed, 129 Defense, 129 HP.
				- Trick
				- Calm mind
				- Thunderbolt
				- Psychic

This one is just awesome. Trick anything that’s
not a physical sweeper and start using calm mind, than just
sweep… It is incredibly simple and effective.

				Mr. Mime.
Nature: Timid (+ Speed, - Attack).
				Equip: Lum berry.
				EV´s: 252 Speed, 129 Defense, 129 Special
				defense.
				- Baton pass
				- Calm mind
				- Barrier
				- Psychic

Not as good as Ninjask, but this baton passer is
quite effective. Just remember your timing, take it out early in
the battle so you can use it at least twice.

				DP.

First of all, remember the physical / special
attack consideration has changed for DP, so some of our reviews
have to change as well to fit the new criteria.

I have been researching for almost 2 hours hoping
to find something new for this old guy, unfortunately not so
much has changed for this one. It is still mainly a baton
passer, I wouldn’t chance a lot for this one. Grass knot is
great against a pretty wide variety of foes but thunderbolt is
still better. Encore and substitute are useful to keep using
calm mind, but it is still the same move set…

When should I use this Pokémon?
You should use it if you can’t get Alakazam for
you in game purposes. It is decent and Calm mind is always
useful… But I can’t really get the baton passer strategy.
				Ninjask is still the king.

What should I use against this Pokémon?
Strong physical sweepers as Snorlax will do
great. Tyranitar is almost a guarantee as well…

				Bottom line:
Now that we can find them in the wild and with a
very common pre-evolution, this guy is gaining some life. Thanks
Nintendo, for not letting a forgotten classic die.

Remember, If you have DP versions and want my
