Pojo's Pokemon of the Week

from Kayleigh Macphail

Crobat

Date Reviewed: 05.11.07

Ratings & Reviews Summary: 3.70

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale.
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.  5 is the highest rating.

Carbunkle They wanted us to do the new starters but we in Europe doesn't have either
Diamond nor Pearl released yet so it will be some oldies.

This week we are reviewing Crobat.

Crobat
Ability: Inner Focus

With this ability it will not loose any focus by flinching. Pretty good.

Nature: Adamant

Atk: 306
Speed: 394

This will make sure your Crobat gets stronger but at the cost of it's Sp.
Atk.
The other stats aren't needed. But great Speed.

Item: Bright Powder

Moves:
1) Swift
2) Confuse Ray
3) Toxic
4) Hyper Beam

Now this will make sure you will hit as much as you can because of the
Bright Powder.
The strategy here is simple, Confuse, Toxic, Hyper Beam. If the Fly/Dig use
Swift and you make sure a hit.
Sure Crobat isn't strong but he can have fun with the enemy.

Rating:
3.5/5

As I said, not the best but sure to have fun with =)
James Crobat
#169
Type Flying, Poison
Ability(s): Inner Focus
Locations: Evolve Golbat (Happiness)

Today we are reviewing the bat Pokémon, Crobat.

Crobat is one of the faster Pokemon. The main problems with Crobat are: a small move set and weaknesses to ice, psychic, rock, and electric.

With that said, here are some battle strategies for Crobat

For pre Diamond and Pearl
Crobat
Nature: Jolly (+speed, -special attack)
EV’s: 252 speed, 129 defense, 129 special defense
Ability: Inner Focus
Equip: Leftovers
-Confuse Ray (Lvl 28)
-Toxic (TM 06)
-Double Team (TM 32)
-Giga Drain (TM 19)

This is the most annoying Crobat ever. I don’t know how many times I lost to this Crobat.

For Diamond and Pearl
Crobat
Nature: Adamant (+attack, -special attack)
EV’s: 252 attack, 252 speed, 6 hp
Ability: Inner Focus
Equip: Leftovers or Liechi Berry
-Cross Poison (Lvl 1)
-X-Scissor (TM 81)
-Fly (HM 02)
-Steel Wing (TM 47)

Basic sweeper.

Bottom Line: Crobat is one of the better poison Pokemon.

Rating: 3/5

Crobat

A fast, strong sweeper with nice same-type-bonus moves of Sludge Bomb and Aerial Ace plus various other uses such as hazing away stat boosts or disruption with toxic.

Reeve Crobat.
# 169.
Type: Poison / Flying.
Ability: Inner focus.
Locations: Happiness evolution of Golbat.

Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re reviewing Crobat, the bat Pokémon.

I have to admit I was lucky last week when I was facing the second gym leader of DP and my Zubat evolved into Golbat and Crobat a level after that. Crobat has been one of my favorites since Pokémon Stadium 2. It has a great speed and attack and yes, it can beat Alakazam. Great type combination and great movesets for this one as well…

Unfortunately its ability is nothing to be so excited. Inner focus prevents flinching, that’s it…

Let’s move on to the move combinations I’ll start for combinations for the GBA and then I’ll be introducing move combinations for the new DP games…

GBA.
Crobat.
Nature: Jolly (+ Speed, - Special attack).
Equip: Salac berry.
EV´s: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Special defense.
- Sludge bomb
- Aerial ace
- Shadow ball
- Return

Great set, if you use it properly it will beat one of your foe’s Pokémon and probably hurt badly or even poison another one. It is fast and strong, a physical sweeper.

Crobat.
Nature: Jolly (+ Speed, - Special attack).
Equip: Liechi berry.
EV´s: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP.
- Sludge bomb
- Aerial ace
- Shadow ball
- Haze

This one is the anti-tank, use haze and keep sweeping, eventually you’ll win without a problem.

Crobat.
Nature: Jolly (+ Speed, - Special attack).
Equip: Leftovers.
EV´s: 252 HP, 129 Defense, 129 Special defense.
- Toxic
- Haze
- Confuse ray
- Whirlwind

I have to say I totally hate this set, but it works. Take this one as your first Pokémon of the battle and you will have a great advantage against most Pokémon, if you see a steel type, switch or use whirlwind

DP.

First of all, remember the physical / special attack consideration has changed for DP, so some of our reviews have to change as well to fit the new criteria.

Crobat.
Nature: Jolly (+ Speed, - Special attack).
Equip: Salac berry.
EV´s: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Special defense.
- Cross poison
- Aerial ace / Brave bird
- Shadow ball
- Return

When should I use this Pokémon?
Just use it, almost any situation is great to use this good Pokémon, just remember to train it with the proper EV’s.

What should I use against this Pokémon?
If you are not facing a Hazer, use tanks. Strong steel types as Steelix will work as well. Use type advantages wisely.

Bottom line:
Times are changing, but this Pokémon is still as good as I remember. One of the most competitive Pokémon.

Remember, If you have DP versions and want my number please Send me an e-mail with yours to reeve.ryu@gmail.com As soon as I can import my GBA Pokémon to Diamond, I’ll be trading some pretty good Pokémon; legendaries, starters, Feebas, and stuff like that. Thanks and see you on Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Rating:
4.7/5

Hope you enjoyed.
Reeve.
