Reeve Vaporeon.
# 134.
Type: Water.
Ability: Water absorb.
Locations: Evolve Eevee.

Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re reviewing Vaporeon, the bubble jet Pokémon.

Vaporeon is very similar to Lapras, not as popular, but similar. It has high HP and Special attack, unfortunately for us; it also has a very bad defense and a limited move pool. This means it has the natural talent of a special sweeper. But it is also good as a baton passer.

Water absorb is quite good. You force switches with this so that’s a good advantage, It might not be as strong as some other water sweepers, but almost every one of them will be forced to switch against this.

We’ve seen this is especially useful as a special sweeper and passer, so let’s see…

Vaporeon.
Nature: Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack).
Equip: Leftovers.
EV´s: 252 HP, 252 Special attack, 6 Defense.
- Surf
- Ice beam
- HP electric
- Toxic

This one is kind of customizable. If you want this to last a little bit longer try rest or wish instead of toxic. You can also try HP grass instead of electric.

Vaporeon.
Nature: Bold (+ Defense, - Attack).
Equip: Leftovers.
EV´s: 252 HP, 129 Defense, 129 Special defense.
- Substitute
- Acid armor
- Hydro pump
- Baton pass

This one is to pass defense, but if you want to recover some HP of other Pokémon try wish. Remember the passer strategy…

When should I use this Pokémon?
I wouldn’t suggest this one as your sweeper, it is strong but its not so high defenses are kind of a huge disadvantage. Use the baton passer for defenses. Maybe that way another sweeper will do a better job.

What should I use against this Pokémon?
Remember the defense? Well, use attackers. Fighting ones are useful because they are not that weak against water or ice attacks. Try Machamp.

Bottom line:
Not my favorite Eon, but a decent one, got to admit it.

Rating:
3.6/5

Hope you enjoyed.
Reeve.
