Pojo's Pokemon of the Week

Blastoise

Date Reviewed: 10.14.06

Ratings & Reviews Summary:

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale.
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.  5 is the highest rating.

Reeve Blastoise.
# 009.
Type: Water.
Ability: Torrent.
Locations: Evolve Wartortle.

Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re reviewing my very first Pokémon (Fully evolved); Blastoise.

Ok, it’s not the best Pokémon out there, but I felt like reviewing this guy. Blastoise defenses are good. It can survive a sweeper for a turn or two, so we can use the turtle as a tank.

You know the starter ability, useless in almost every situation.

Now, we’re reviewing the one and only Tank Blastoise, along with other options for your moves.

Blastoise.
Nature: Bold (+ Defense, -Attack).
Equip: Leftovers.
EV´s: 252 HP, 129 Special defense, 129 Defense.
- Mirror coat
- Refresh
- Toxic
- Rest

Is used well, this Pokémon is going to stop almost any sweeper. Just remember; use refresh and rest just in time and you’ll be fine. If you don’t like this combination you might want to try haze, rapid spin or yawn. Some say that Hydro cannon is a good option for “emergency purposes”, so feel free to try.

When should I use this Pokémon?
I use it every time I want to remember old times. You use this as your team tank. It is a decent (but underused) Pokémon if you know how to play with it. So be careful.

What should I use against this Pokémon?
If you have a special sweeper with an electric attack strong enough to beat this one then use it. If you’re not sure then don’t, because of mirror coat. A strong Thunder Kyogre with a couple calm minds will take this one out easily (unless it uses Haze).

Bottom line:
I felt like reviewing my old pal today =P

Rating:
2.6/5

Hope you enjoyed.
Reeve.
