Hi everyone. We’re reviewing Articuno this week. Hope you like this…

This can’t be good. The legendary bird that is both flying and ice types. Not a good combination if you ask me. 4x weak to rock types. Which isn’t good. Its move pool isn’t the great either. Its ability doesn’t really help, so despite its legendary title, it’s not a very good option.

Now, the suggested move combination for this Pokémon. This time only one. Try it, I think is a pretty decent combination for Articuno.

Nature: Modest (+Special Attack, -Attack).
Equip: Leftovers.
EV´s: 252 HP, 129 Defense, 129 Special defense.
- Ice beam
- Toxic
- Roar
- Rest

Roar when necessary… Use toxic and ice beam until you need to use rest. Repeat… Simple.

When should I use this Pokémon?
My advice would be: don’t use it. But if you really want to use it, be sure your foe can’t use a fire or rock type attack. If so, switch.

What should I use against this Pokémon?
Almost everything. Rock slider Gyarados, over heater Charizard… The list goes on and on…

Bottom line:
Try not to use it. It is a Pokémon for pokédex-filling purposes only…

Alex. B. Articuno's stats are high in special defense and above average in defense
and HP, so a stall moveset works well. If you can snag Shadow Articuno from
gale of darkness and open the door to its heart, he will learn the heal bell
and haze abilities which work great on it. Its ice beam is potent against
dragons and grass types. Another Articuno choice is a strategy only two
pokemon can use: mind reader + sheer cold. Sheer cold is an inaccurate move
that will only work on pokemon of a lower or equal level but if it hits the
pokemon suffers a one hit knock out regardless of its remaining health. The
mind reader attack ensures your next attack hits, so with both together you
can KO any pokemon that cannot KO Articuno the turn it uses mind reader or
has sturdy. If they switch after you use mind reader, the incoming pokemon
has only a low chance of being hit by sheer cold. Beware of this tactic in
level balance on netbattle as your articuno may be a lower level. Such a
moveset could be:

Mind Reader
Sheer Cold
Heal Bell
Ice Beam

Another combo is to use a pokemon with the moves baton pass and either
spider web or mean look. After the move traps an opponent's
defensively-orientated pokemon that cannot KO Articuno, the baton pass move
allows you to send Articuno in but keep the trapping effect in play. Then
Articuno's two turn attack can snipe the opponent down. A good, versatile

carbunkle Ability: Pressure
Nature: Mild/Modest

The ability you can't do a thing about but its good when you are facing
someone that has BIG attacks with little PP.
The Nature is to raise it's Sp. Atk and not lowering it's Sp. Def and Speed.
The other stats aren't oblivous here.

HP: 384
Sp. Atk: 317
Sp. Def: 383

Item: Leftovers

1. Ice Beam
2. Aerial Ace
3. Icy Wind
4. Substitute

Here we have it. Sure not strong attacks but very special attacks. He is
more for Specials but that Wind attack is good if you seem not to be able to
hit your enemy.

Substitute for defense, Leftovers for life, Ice beam nad Icy Wind to attack
and hope for a little or a big ice cube (Ice Ice Baby).

Well, he is my second choice of the 3 legendary tweety birds, and he can be
very destructive if you do it right.
