Top 6 Pokemon for me in pokemon leaf green!

Name: Venusaur
Type: Grass/Poison
Ability: Overgrow
Item: Miracle Seed
Moves:
Frenzy Plant
Razor Leaf
Giga Drain
Cut
Stratagy: The Frenzy Plant is better than Solar Beam b/c its stronger and it hits before the turn of no attack comes. The Drain gives damage, and give health.

Name: Tyranitar
Type: Rack/Dark
Ability: Sand Stream
Item: Quick Claw
Moves:
Crunch
Rock Slide
Earthquake
Hyper Beam
Stratagy: Tyranitar is very durable against attack being a rock type, and the Crunch is amazing on psychic and ghost types. The quick claw helps it attack first since its slow being a rock type.

Name: Starmie
Type: Water/Psychic
Ability: Illuminate
Item: Amulet Coin
Moves:
Psychic
Surf
Thunderbolt
Toxic
Stratagy: Starmie is a cool pokemon and can learn alot of moves. Since it can learn a variety of attacks, it is a good pokemon to start out with. Since I use it as my starter a lot, I gave it the Amulet Coin so I get more money when I win.

Name: Articuno
Type: Ice/Fly
Ability: Pressure
Item: Nevermeltice
Moves:
Blizzard
Ice Beam
Fly
Rocksmash
Stratagy: The ice attacks are usefull against dragons. The Rocksmash move may be weak, but it helped me catch a load of tough pokemon by wittling down the foes HP.

Name: Moltres
Type: Fire/Fly
Ability: Pressure
Item: Charcoal
Moves:
Fire Blast
Flamethrower
Fly
Endure
Stratagy: Moltres is tough and it has a powerful SP Attack. The speed is also pretty fast. I like to have the fire attacks, but it doesn't really play a crucial part of my team.

Name: Zapdos
Type: Electric/Fly
Ability: Pressure
Item: Dire Hit
Moves:
Thunder
Thunder Wave
Fly
Detect
Stratagy: Zapdos is really fast. The Thunder move has a high amount of PP so if it does miss, can use it again. The Detect comes in handy if you know whats coming like if you know a Sky Attack or a Solar Beam.

Note: Some people think that the legendary birds are cheap, but if you spend the time catching and training, you can't call it cheap. I just see them as a good stratagy for my team. The Pressure ablity makes it so the pokemon uses two PP for a move at one time.
