Pokιmon-e FAQ IV | Aquapolis and | Skyridge - | Construction | Action Fun! | ―――――――――――――――――― 1.) Card List 2.) Instructions 3.) Players 4.) Maps 5.) Pokιmon Descriptions 6.) Closing *Updated 09/20/03 ----------------- -.) Introduction How-dee-hoe! Welcome to this little side FAQ to the Aquapolis-e and Skyridge-e FAQs. This FAQ was created to provide detailed infomaion on the Construction Action Function of some of the cards included with these two sets. ----------------- 1.) Card List Here's the list of cards that you'll want to get to have the most control over your time playing Construction Action. This card list contains cards from both the Aquapolis-e (AQ) and Skyridge-e (SR) sets of Pokιmon-e cards, and contains all three types of cards: Rare (R), Uncommon (U), and Common (C). Cards from the Aquapolis-e set feature an icon that looks like a drop of water, while cards from the Skyridge-e set feature an icon that looks like two mountains. These icons are found in the bottom, right hand corner, slightly near the card number. Also by the card number is the smaller icon that denotes the rarity of each card. Rare cards are marked with a star, Uncommon cards are marked with a diamond, and Common cards are marked with circle. It's important to know that only the regular cards contain dot-codes. If youget a card featuring the holo-foil enhancement, it will *not* have the dot-code infomation on it that is required to scan into the e-Reader. AQ #001 Ampharos (R) AQ #002 Arcanine (R) AQ #009 Elekid (R) AQ #010 Entei (R) AQ #013 Exeggutor (R) AQ #014 Houndoom (R) AQ #017 Jumpluff (R) AQ #023 Muk (R) AQ #027 Parasect (R) AQ #029 Primeape (R) AQ #043 Vileplume (R) AQ #050a Golduck (U) AQ #060 Skiploom (U) AQ #080 Growlithe (C) AQ #087 Houndour (C) AQ #092 Mankey (C) AQ #093 Mareep (C) AQ #097 Oddish (C) AQ #103a Porygon (C) AQ #105 Remoraid (C) AQ #107 Sentret (C) AQ #108 Slowpoke (C) AQ #116 Vulpix (C) AQ #123 Forest Guardian (U) AQ #126 Juggler (U) AQ #130 Pokιmon Fan Club (U) AQ #133 Seer (U) SR #005 Beedrill (R) SR #010 Gengar (R) SR #012 Houndoom (R) SR #016 Machamp (R) SR #024 Piloswine (R) SR #025 Politoed (R) SR #028 Raikou (R) SR #029 Rhydon (R) SR #035 Xatu (R) SR #038 Machoke (U) SR #039 Misdreavus (U) SR #040 Noctowl (U) SR #044 Starmie (U) SR #049 Delibird (C) SR #057 Gastly (C) SR #072 Ledyba (C) SR #075 Magikarp (C) SR #083 Nidorina (C) SR #087 Poliwag (C) SR #089 Raticate (C) SR #092 Sandshrew (C) SR #094 Seel (C) SR #097 Skarmory (C) SR #098 Slugma (C) SR #099 Slugma (C) SR #102 Stantler (C) SR #103 Staryu (C) SR #120 Relic Hunter (U) SR #121 Apricorn Maker (U) SR #123 Desert Shaman (U) SR #124 Fast Ball (U) SR #125 Fisherman (U) SR #126 Friend Ball (U) SR #128 Lure Ball (U) SR #140 Underground Expedition (U) ----------------- 2.) Instructions The Construction Action feature is a type of customizable game that you create by scanning multiple cards into the e-Reader to make a map layout that you must navigate your player though to capture all the Pokιmon that are scurring around the map in various fashions. There are various ways that you can fail in your mission. While you want to capture all of the Pokιmon on the map, you don't want one of them (or anything they shoot out) to touch you. Also, you don't want to run out of Pokιballs to capture them with (although there are some maps that contain extra Pokιballs that you can pick up as you play). As with most games, you also don't want to fall down into any pits or walk completly off the map (either off the very beginning or off the end). And finally, you don't want to run out of time. To load up the Construction Action feature, you just need to scan *any* one of the varous cards listed above. Any card that has a Construction Action Block will also contain all the info needed to activate the game. Once you scan the card in, the Construction Action main screen will load, along with the data from the card you scanned in. From here, you'll have a couple of options: Scan Card - Scanning a card will allow you to add another map block or add or change a player. Scanning the same map card in multiple times will not give you more map blocks. Start - Selecting Start will, as the option suggests, start the game. If you do not have a player or map block scanned in, the game will load, but end as soon as it starts. Shuffle - The Shuffle feature is an interesting one, it will cause however many map blocks you have loaded to re-organize themselves. This both allows you to create a "new" game for fun or if you're just having problems with the current map layout. Delete - This allows you to delete any one block (with it lets you select). Handy if one particular map square is giving you problems. Delete All - This lets you delete all of the loaded blocks, in case you wish to start from scratch. The amount of Pokιballs you start with will depend on which player you select. The amount of time and number of Pokιmon you'll have to collect will depend on which maps you scan. The next two sections of this FAQ will detail info on both Player blocks and Map blocks. Use this info to help create your own Construction Action Game. Controls: The controls are fairly easy. You move your player with the + Pad, run by holding down the right button, throw a Pokιball with the B button and jump with the A Button. Also, you can High-Jump by holding down on the + Pad and then pressing the jump button. There is no pause feature, so once you start the game, you'd better be ready to play! ----------------- 3.) Players There are nine players that you can use in your game. Each player has it's own appearance (i.e.: has a different sprite) and varies as far as how well it can compete in each map. Here's a list of the cards that contain Player Blocks: AQ #123 Forest Guardian (U) AQ #126 Juggler (U) AQ #130 Pokιmon Fan Club (U) AQ #133 Seer (U) SR #120 Relic Hunter (U) SR #121 Apricorn Maker (U) SR #123 Desert Shaman (U) SR #125 Fisherman (U) SR #140 Underground Expedition (U) Each player has four different catagories in which you'll notice differences. Jump, Speed, Pokιball, and Throw can vairy from player to player, so here's the breakdown on how each player ranks. F. Gaurdian - 01 02 30 04 Juggler - 02 03 15 02 P. Fan Club - 02 03 15 02 Seer - 03 02 15 02 R. Hunter - 04 04 30 05 A. Maker - 01 01 30 02 D. Shaman - 01 01 30 01 F. Man - 02 03 15 03 U. E. - 02 02 15 03 |―― |―― ――| ――| | Speed Pokιballs | Jump Throw Jump: A player's jumping ability can play a large part in how well the player can dodge the Pokιmon and how well you'll be able to get over pits and such. The higher the score, the higher the player can jump. Speed: Some players move faster than others, and slower players will make it more difficult to work your way around the map. Also, playing as the Relic Hunter is difficult to learn how to control, as he doesn't stop so easily. The higher the score here, the faster the player can move. Pokιballs: Each player starts with either 15 or 30 Pokιballs. You can also pick up additional Pokιballs on some of the map blocks that you scan. Throw: Depending upon your player, the length across the screen (and sometimes onto the next screen) that you can throw your Pokιball will be different. The higher the score here, the further your player will be able to throw the Pokιball. ----------------- 4.) Maps There are several different map blocks between these two sets of Pokιmon cards - 53 in fact. Heres a list! Yay for lists! Finally, add one second if you've added a player block (which you have to have if you plan on actually playing the game). ----------------- 5.) Thanks to RainbowRichards and Shining Umbreon over at Pokegym.net for trading with me and hooking me up with the few Pokιmon-e cards that I still needed. Thanks to Nintendo Power and the Pokιcenter crew for a wee bit of info on the cards. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Created 08/22/03 - Updated 09/20/03 - ©2003 UncleBob - theunclebob@hotmail.com ----------------- -.) Secret Bonus And for reading this much, here's a secret bonus! These are the cards to play to get the highest scores! Here ya go! AQ # 10 Entei 4500 SR # 29 Rhydon 4000 SR # 28 Raikou 5600 SR # 25 Politoed 4000 SR # 16 Machamp 5000 SR # 99 Slugma 3900 Also, you can swith card SR #10 Gengar with the Slugma card above - they're worth the same amount of points... Using these cards, you'll score 27,000 points - and this is before adding whatever time bonus you can manage! If you're a faster player, you might play with the cards that add the most amount of time instead. Check this combo out... AQ # 13 Exeggutor 2000 27 SR # 5 Beedrill 3000 26 SR # 28 Raikou 5600 28 SR # 39 Misdreavus 3000 26 SR # 87 Poliwag 1800 26 SR # 44 Starmie 3500 28 While you'll only manage to score 18,900 points from Pokιmon collecting, you'll start out with 2 min, 42 seconds... Running through it a couple of times, until I finally got through it completly, I had around 90 seconds left over - for a total score of 41,700 - without really trying to run though it - and the slowest character... so the real question is, what is the ultimate combination of cards to get the absolute highest score? The world may never know...
