New TCG carded gift sets, Target exclusive gift card, etc.!
March 21, 2007

Big month ahead for Pokemon! I spotted two new carded TCG gifts sets over the weekend that should keep you busy while you wait for those awesome 2007 tins! At Meijer, for $10.99, I found a set that contained:

2 ex Power keepers and 1 ex Unseen Forces TCG boosters,

1 collectible coin, and

your choice of either Deoxys OR Mew POP Series 4 foils.

At Target, for around $11.99, I saw a set that contained: four assorted ex TCG boosters and TWO foils, Combusken AND Mudkip from POP Series 4.

(omahanime sent us images of these.  Thanks O.!!!  Click on them to see a larger image)

If you haven't preordered your Diamond or Pearl for the DS yet, make a beeline for the electronics counter while you're at Target. Target has upped the ante on the preorder bonus--not only do you get an awesome Dialga or Palkia stylus with that preorder, but Target puts your $5 deposit on an EXCLUSIVE matching gift card! Make sure when you cash your card in that you ask the clerk to give it back as a souvenir, as they ordinarily trash spent cards (I have a feeling some of these would end up on e-Bay...). Parents take note: since these are gift cards, if you wish, you can put the full amount of the game on the card when you preorder, as pointed out by the helpful clerk I visited (don't forget about tax so your kid won't come up short!).

While we wait for the next wave of Jakks figures, check out your local Japanese grocer for Bandai candy-toys. I can't remember if I posted this set yet, but, I found this on the shelves over the weekend:

I keep hearing James' Chimeco whenever I look at this! Chime! ;)

Oh, how could I forget, the Viz _Pokemon Mystery Dungeon_ manga release was on the shelf at my local Borders last week, compiling the

6 issues serialized in recent issues of Nintendo Power:

I guess I should stop here otherwise I would have to tell you that I found Japanese language Nintendo guides to R&S Pinball, Gold/Silver and R&S (plus a matching 350+ page R&S Pokedex) in the used books over the weekend... :D

PI!!!
