Pojo's Pokemon News
I hit 4 different Targets over
the weekend but only one had a NEW box of
Pokemon beanies... I hunted around on the web
(toy dealer site, e-Bay) and found these pix of
the newbies:
http://www.toywiz.com/pikachuappleplush.html http://www.toywiz.com/pokemonjigglypuffplush.html Wow! The Pikachu holding an apple is quite novel; it reminds me of many Japanese plush I've seen. The embroidered details on the beanies (esp. Jigglypuff's multi-tonal eyes) are excellent; IMHO, superior to the stamped on designs of the original/early Hasbro beanies. I'll be hunting for Chikorita, as I only managed to score Pika, Jiggly and Nidorina. As far as the 10th Anniversary DVD's with release dates noted as 6/6/2006 on the Amazon website, I have not found either Pika or Jiggly in stores yet. An in-person visit to a local Borders yielded "July 2006" on their in-store database! A delay? I wonder has anyone managed to receive a copy ordered via Amazon; their site claims the items are in stock and ready to ship... More Bandai 10th Anniversary candy-toy figures are showing up in Japanese marketplaces; here's the set I saw on the shelf: http://www.bandai.co.jp/candy/products/2006/33252.html If you follow these closely, you'll notice the figures are in new poses; I scored the 3 Fire Red Leaf Green starters for my toy shelf... I really love the intro to their Pokemon product site! Yay 10th! http://www.bandai.co.jp/candy/pokemon/ Origins is this weekend in Columbus, OH. A big Pokemon USA area is on their dealer room map! If you're in Central Ohio this week, this might be something to catch! <party horn noise!> PIKA! Loretta P.S. I forgot to mention, I did hit the
Pokemon Center kiosk at the Cincinnati bash on
the Friday before the event. It was awesome,
but, I was a bit disappointed, they didn't have
t-shirts (the contractor said they would be too
hard to keep looking "neat"--I wonder, did they
think, at other events I've attended, ONE
t-shirt gets hung for display, the rest stay in
a box behind the scenes and you ask for the size
you need.......) and they were all out of 10th
Anniversary plush and figures (the contractor
said Pokemon Center was waiting for more to
arrive from overseas--which could only mean they
are selling like Pokemon hotcakes!
