Holiday News
December 20, 2006

I've been away from the PC all last week; but, while I was away, of course, I was out shopping. I spotted 2 new TCG gift sets at Target and Wal-Mart containing: 1 previously released ex Trainer kit (Latios/Latias or Minun/Plusle), 3 assorted ex TCG boosters and 1 foil promo (Celebi or Mew). Great sets to introduce someone new to the game!

I found some new Pokemon rice seasoning packets at my local Japanese grocer; you can see Marumiya offers an assortment of anime themed foods:

New Bandai candy-toy items are flying off the shelves:

There were also some newer smaller figures at my local anime shop; however, those aren't pictured on the Bandai site yet. A new Jirachi sculpt was in the set, along with characters from the 2006 movie starring Manaphy.

Pojo, remember you posted some toy dealer scans of Jakks items? That site updated with some new package scans. Wowee:

And for the more erudite, some reading material, The Best of Pokemon

Adventures: Yellow, gets a Viz reissue, just hitting the stores now:

Whew. Save your gift cards for Jakks; I'm hoping Target and/or Wal-Mart stocks up, Jakks' e-mail said to check there for their products (but, of course, they didn't have any specifics... sigh...

the thrill of the hunt?!).

Happy holiday shopping! Whooooops, I nearly forgot!--http://www.wakaba.net/new_arrival.htm, there is a Lucario promo card in the December 2006 Corocoro, scroll down a bit on that page and check it out (Corocoro Riolu promo). Pika!!!

Loretta (who secretly wants to cosplay as Yellow! ;)

Late Update

Hi, Pojo,

I've found some additional news: The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon comic serialized in Corocoro originally and now in 6 issues of Nintendo Power gets a collected manga release from Viz in March--something you may have already seen on Amazon. The news is there is now a scan of the cover art. Nice!

My only disappointment with the Nintendo Power was that they did not have serrations to remove the manga from the zine, altho' I imagine zine collectors would shy away from alteration. It will be nice to have the story in one volume; and since I'm playing the Blue game right now, it makes more sense on both ends, reading and playing!
