Thursday, 06.23.05   Pokemon gets credit for lost boy's survival in the Utah wilderness! - Brennan Hawkins was lost in the Utah wilderness for 4 days.  He was found alive and unscathed by searchers.  "His personality hasn't changed one tiny bit," Jody Hawkins (his mother), adding that one of the first things Brennan asked about was whether the Pokemon cards he bought on eBay last week had arrived.

Mom: "He ordered them on eBay last week and I tell you that's what got him off that mountain. He gets very riveted on something and everyday he checked the mail for them. He asked for them first thing in the hospital, "Did my Pokemon cards come yet?"

What's this I see?!?  Cole Bendall, our very own Pokeguru, who took first place at the Pokémon City Championships in Scottland, gets a nice mention in the Scottish Press. Cole will compete in the Pokémon combined English/Scottish/Welsh/Irish National Championships tomorrow. Hopefully, he will win and go on to play in the Pokémon TCG World Championships in San Diego, CA. Good luck Cole!

"Nintendo has announced that its Pokemon series has now topped the 100 million games sold barrier, making it Nintendo's second-best-selling franchise behind Mario.

Confirmed in its latest investor relations report, Nintendo stated that it was the series' latest co-dependent two-game release, Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green that topped the 100 million mark for the franchise when it shipped 6.09 million games in the business year that ended 31 March 2005. Pokemon Emerald also helped by shifting a commendable 1.72 million units in the same period.

Also in the world of Pokemon, Nintendo is to release what it describes as a Mew-coloured limited edition Nintendo DS in Japan to commemorate the new Pokemon film, due out in Japan this summer.  As well as being painted in Mew's light-pink tone, a silhouette of the rare Pokemon will also feature on the top cover and to the left of the upper screen.
