Loretta's Toy News -
Wanna Make a Pokemon Quilt?
Sept. 2, 2005

Heya, Pojo,

I was milling around on e-Bay looking to see what all was new in Pokemon toy world when I stumbled across these:

If you or your Ma is handy w/a needle/thread, these could be a lot of fun! Where can you buy them? Why, at your local Wal-mart! I found the fleece and several of the cotton prints there. I plan to make a blanket and some pillow cases... I think-! If you search pokemon & fabric on e-Bay, you can get a general idea of what you might find. I missed the last wave of Poke-fabric, but, with the resurgence in popularity of the franchise, the market is again offering some practical goods.

One of the designs I found at the Wal-mart was not on e-Bay when I looked today; it has Pikachu in various poses surrounded by flowery designs. Quite cute. My yardage of fleece is blue, rather than the red I found in the above links. Pika has BLUE cheeks (reminds me of that variant Pikachu card, what was it, yellow cheeks? ;-) )!!!

On a completely different topic, Lego's new online catalog is out (Potter anyone?):

I got an e-mail offering some free gold bricks w/order (it is the 50th anniversary of Lego-! Too bad Mega Blocks has the Pokemon license right now...).

Happy stitching!
