Muk Man's Season Chronicles

Since I plan on going to worlds this year, I decided to chronicle my season. I hope that others may learn for my experience, and take the proper steps towards becoming a better pokemon player. I am also doing this so when I leave the game I will have something to reflect upon.

My Road To Worlds…

Episode 9 “Soft Reset”

So everyone who plays pokemon should know what a soft reset is. Its simply turning off you game without saving so that you can return to a certain point in the game.  I had to soft reset my Pokemon for about 8 hours just to get Dialga with the right Trait. (which is pointless because you can’t use him in any tournament)
 

Well the new set Diamond & Pearl has been released, and this set is special, in the fact that it come with some major rule changes, game mechanic changes, and even pokemon changes. The great thing about this is because it’s so brand new, and such major changes have been made it’s like starting all over. New trainers make others useless, new rules make older cards better, new pokemon make older pokemon better and worse. I have about 5-10 deck ideas that before the rule changes would have never been possible. Now because of the changes I can go crazy.

Honestly I’m not expecting all the older decks to just disappear, but the fact is with so many new changes there are a lot of new possibilities. So, I had to put my Nintendo DS down this week so that I could go through all those cards I said I couldn’t use, and see what I can do with them now. The first round of battle roads start tomorrow and I think I will use that T2 whiscash deck that everyone’s been talking about. But if you are really struggling on a solid deck choice. I would recommend ludicargo. The fact is everyone is dying to play with infernape, and since battle road is purely for points a strong water deck will earn you plenty. And I expect to see quite a few salamence decks, just because he is resistant to the 2 best cards in the set, Infernape and Rhyperior, and because he has so many forms and combinations so a crystal shard wont hurt at all. So have fun and good luck, and take the opportunity to play with those crazy deck you’ve been working on. It might be the next Super Stantler.

Don’t forget to book your hotel  rooms for Nationals. I checked my reservation only to find out it had been lost, and when I made my new one I was told that there were only 6 rooms left, so don’t wait.
