Muk Man on Pokemon Since I plan on going to worlds this year, I decided to chronicle my season. I hope that others may learn for my experience, and take the proper steps towards becoming a better pokemon player. I am also doing this so when I leave the game I will have something to reflect upon.
 My Road To Worlds…

					Episode 1 “The Beginning…”
So I’m am scheduled to work, but at the VERY
VERY, last minute I find someone to cover my shift so that I
can make it to the first premier event of the season, the
City Championships in High Point, NC. High Point is about
three hours away, so when I leave the club at 5am, drive the
hour home, then shower and change cloths, I have 1 hour to
put my deck together. I have several half-decks built, with
a mix of real and proxy cards, so I decide to use the time
driving to choose my final deck.
Well due to the unexpected traffic from the
biggest college football game in the state, (NC State vs.
UNC) traffic causes me to arrive late. I had 4 minutes to
build my deck and register, so I went with my Flaridos
deck that I played at World's Grinder.
It’s a five round swiss, with a cut to top 8.
Game 1, I get donked turn three, not how I wanted to
start out my season. Game 2, I Play a perfect game
only giving up 1 prize. Game 3, I see the one pokemon
that I hate, so I go aggressive against it’s pre evos, which
allowed the game to stay pretty close, till I was fully set
up and started picking every thing off. Game 4, I go
up in prizes early, but his uncanny ability to flip 5 heads
in a row, allowed the game to stay close, my frustration
caused me to miss several easy KO opportunities, and cost me
the game. Game 5 is for pride, so I play my best and
take an easy win. 11th place. The most important thing is that I’ve seen how the Metagame is shaping. After a conference call with my training partner who missed the event, he tells me of a brand new deck. We go through the scenarios against the various decks that I’ve seen at the event, and realize that it is a great Play. So although I didn’t win, I was able to pull a small victory from this weekend.
What is this new deck? Will it work” Will I Win?… Stay tuned for the next installment. Episode 2 “A New Hope”
