Match-Ups and You.
January 31, 2007

Everybody that plays the Pokemon TCG knows the meaning of the word Match-Up.
Match-Ups are something everybody can talk about cause I’m quite sure everybody had to face a Match-Up once or twice. So I’m going to give some tips that can help you Win some of your Match-Ups.

I'm going to show you all what to do IF you have to face a Match-Up

Look at these 4 easy steps below.

(Step 1) Stay Focused

A lot of people stress out when they know their facing a Match-Up. Just stay calm and focus on the Game. Think twice before doing a move cause every move counts twice in a Match-Up.

(Step 2) Knowing your Opponents Win Condition.

It’s always good to know your opponent’s Win condition, especially when your facing a Match-Up. This is always important but like I said before you really can’t afford to make a misplay in a Match-Up. Knowing your opponents Win condition while give you a chance to think ahead this takes us to the next step.

(Step 3) Try to Think Ahead

Like I said in Step 2 when you know your opponents Win condition you can think ahead.
By thinking ahead you can determine your opponents strategy and a way to play around your opponents stragtegy. This 4th and final Step.

(Step 4) Playing around your Opponents Strategy

I think this would depend on the decks you and your Opponent is playing. But there are basics tactics to play around your opponents strategy. For example when you play against Flariados you hold on to your evolution cards or when playing against Delta don’t let them get behind in prizes. Keep on to your hand don’t waist any card you might need it at that moment but you might need it later on in the game.

Until Next Time
