Top 10 Trainers/Stadiums/Tools in the current Modified Format: By SuperSlowpoke

Hello all, today I’m counting down the current top 10 T/T/S’s in the current format. Most of these

cards are generally used in almost every single deck around. There are many honourable

mentions and cards that just missed the list, but this is the final top 10:

10: Premier Ball:

To start of the top 10, we have Premier Ball finishing in 10th place. It is a must in almost any deck that relies heavily on LV.X pokemon. The ability to search from the deck without a flip is great enough, not to mention the ability to revive your cards from the discard! This can be used to spring a surprise Luxray GL LV.X, or simply to bring a Garchomp C LV.X back into play, to fully heal your side of the field. This card is used very often, especially in SP variants.  For these reasons I am ranking Premier Ball in 10th position.

It is fair to say, that this card has changed the game. This is the first card ever that can be used during your opponents turn. It is a must in every single SP deck. It is so essential to disrupt you opponent’s setup and this is what this card does completely. If you manage to spray the all famous Uxie card, Uxie is then just a sitting duck waiting to be sniped or killed in some sort of torturous fashion. For this reason, I am placing Power Spray in 9th position.

In 8th place, we have night maintenance, a card which is found in almost every deck. It allows you to bring back 3 basic pokemon/energy cards into your deck. This works well for decks that run little energy, or when you run few copies of cards in your deck. Recently out shadowed by its younger brother Palmers Contribution, night maintenance does not see as much play as it did at worlds 09. If I would have done this list earlier I would have placed this card higher, but as it stands it is in 8th position.

7: Team Galactic’s Invention G-101 Energy Gain:

In 7th place we have another Team Galactic invention. Energy Gain is what makes up for the expensive attacks SP pokemon possess. Energy gain is the reason that SP decks are so fast, and I believe without this card SP decks would never have risen to fame. It’s also is easily obtained (thanks to Cyrus’s Conspiracy). An absolute must in every SP deck. For this reason, I am placing this card in 7th place.

6: Warp Point:

In 6th place we have warp point. Many players opt for this card over switch because it disrupts your opponent.  Every deck should run this card, especially decks with tank pokemon that have an insanely high retreat cost.  This card is excellent for turning the game into your favour, because your opponent has to switch first. For these reasons I am placing this card in 6th place.

5: Rare Candy:

In 5th place we have rare candy, a card that has been run in 4’s in all stage 2 decks ever since it was released. It is this card that has made stage 2 decks playable in the past few years. Without it, stage 2 decks would not be able to keep up with the speed of stage 1 decks. Speed is so essential in the format with all the SP decks, so for that reason I am placing Rare Candy in 5th place.

4: Expert Belt:

In 4th place we have a new card called Expert Belt. This card is arguably one of the best cards to come out of the Arceus set. This card basically turns cards into ex pokemon, for some who don’t know ex pokemon were super strong pokemon but when they were knocked out the opponent drew 2 prizes. This card is responsible for the rise of many decks, old and new, and may be the responsible for the rise of many new decks in the near future. For this reason I am placing this card in 4th place.

3:  Broken Time-Space:

Rounding up to the top 3 we have a revolutionary card, broken time-space. This card is unique as it is slowly removing the use of rare candy, because it allows the deck to be consistent at the same time. Any deck which has at an evolution card in it should run this stadium, for this reason, broken time-space in 3rd place.

2: Team Galactic’s Invention G-105 Poke Turn:

In 2nd Place we have, (in my opinion), the best SP support card that came out of Pt/Rr/Sv. EVERY SP deck must run 4 of these, 3 in some cases. Used in SP decks to annoy you opponent by denying a kill, and with the speed that an SP pokemon can setup it can serve in some cases as a full heal. In other decks, this cards buddy is Crobat G, used to place another counter, which in many games, can actually turn the game around.  For this reason, Poketurn is in second place.

Many will disagree with this choice, but I choose this card because simply put, any deck must put 1 or 2 copies in their deck. The ability to search for any pokemon (excluding Lv.x’s) is amazing! The only downside is that you cannot play this card if there is already a luxury ball is your discard. For the reason that every deck MUST run this card, I am placing this card in 1st place.
