					Rocket Boss's Deck Fixes

					Bad Breath Prime Deck Fix
					October 4, 2010

Rocket Boss here with my grand return to the deck garage! I
received this deck from Cartoon Eric and this is what he had
					to say:

I recently got back into the Pokemon TCG game several months
back and have really caught up on the rules, some of them
anyway, and the new style of play and have been collecting
cards all over again.  Feeling inspired I decided I
wanted reconstruct and upgrade an old deck I had since the
early days of the TCG I called "Bad Breath".  It's a
mono-grass deck with the theme of inflicting as many status
problems to the opponent for maximum annoyance. I called it
"Bad Breath" because it's based on the attack name of the
monster Malboro from the Final Fantasy series. I just
thought it'd be a little clever to go with a theme like
that. Now looking at the wider range of Pokemon cards that
could take better advantage of inflicting and using status
effects I decided I want to try and recreate that Bad Breath
deck of mine. Upgrading it and calling it "Bad Breath
Prime"! Now this is where I'd like to ask fellow users for
advice on what would be best to fit into this little deck
idea of mine. I have a good idea on what cards to use, like
UD Leafeon's Miasma Wind attack which I think I'd like to
take advantage of. Along with UL Roserade's Poke-Power
Energy Signal and Rainbow Energy. Just to name a few.

So here's the deck idea run down so far.  Now I don't
have every single card from this deck yet, but I figured a
little constructive criticism would be helpful even before
the deck is fully complete. So here is Bad Breath Prime:

					Pokemon:

					4 Leafeon UD-17
					4 Eevee UD-48
					3 Roselia UL-61
					3 Roserade UL-23
					3 Tropius UL-66
					2 Houndour UD-53
					2 Houndoom Prime UD-82
					2 Drowzee HS-62
					2 Hypno HS-23

					Trainer/Supporter/Stadium:

					3 Switch HS-102
					1 Broken-Time Space PL-104
					2 Bebe's Search RR-89
					2 Super Scoop Up UL-83
					1 Luxury Ball SF-86
					3 Night Maintenance MT-113
					3 Energy Exchange UD-73

					Energy:

					10 Grass Energy Basic
					2 Psychic Energy Basic
					4 Darkness Energy UD-79
					4 Rainbow Energy HS-104

					-----------

Well Eric, all in all it seems like a pretty solid setup for
the goal you are looking to achieve (and yes, the name is
pretty clever too!!).  First of all there are some
cards that need cut just to be able to make your deck
tournament legal for the new MD-on format so we'll start by
dropping the Night Maintenance, an unfortunate loss but
there are other cards we can substitute to help instead.
For the sake of consistency and the need for other integral
cards we'll also remove 3 Tropius (flipping coins for the
sake of setting up isn't always a risk worth taking when
adding more supporters and other cards can create a more
consistent set up than needing energy to flip a coin and
hope for a set up), 3 Switch (we'll want other cards with
added benefits instead of just switch), 2 Grass Energy and 4
Darkness Energy (there are some special energy cards we'll
go with instead of these, plus Houndoom is just a tech card,
a Bench sitter, so we won't be needing attacks from him).

So as of now we have room for 15 cards to go into the deck.
To make up for not having Night Maintenance we'll add 1
Flower Shop Lady and 1 Palmer's Contribution, both are
excellent recovery cards and in some circumstances one is
better than the other so we'll just split the difference and
go with one of each. If you find success with one more than
the other by all means go with two of that one instead, but
for argument's sake we'll go 1-1 for now.  With the
loss off 3 Pokemon from dropping Tropius we'll add 2 Shaymin
UL.  This Shaymin will help keep Energy flowing on the
field so you can attach to Roserade to gain the effects and
then rotate the Energy to your main attacker if there is
still a need for Energy to attack.  Finally for Pokemon
we'll add 2 Uxie LA to help set up better with its PokePower
Set Up.  In the T/S/S section of the deck we'll
increase the Broken Time-Space count to 2 because that extra
one will make a world of a difference for your set up.
We'll also add 2 more Super Scoop-Up to help with recovering
Pokemon to re-use Powers and to help bring Energies back to
your hand.  Let's go with 2 Pokemon Communication to
help make sure you have the right Pokemon when you need
them, 2 Pokemon Collector to help add to set up and to fuel
Pokemon Communication depending on how your hand looks at
the time you go to use it, and a Cynthia's Feelings for more
hand recovery and some cycling of the deck.  This
leaves us only 2 more places in the deck to utilize and I'll
leave it a little more open ended to you depending on the
availability of cards to you... my suggestion is to cut one
Leafeon and add one Leafeon Lv. X, and then add a Premier
Ball and another Psychic Energy.  Leafeon Lv. X will
add HP to Leafeon, and it's Power will allow you to attach a
second Energy card giving you the potential to use Roserade
to add 2 effects as long as you attach both a Psychic and a
Grass Energy that turn, and of course Premier Ball will help
you to use Leafeon Lv. X and the extra Psychic Energy helps
with a more consistent variety of status effects being
added.  If you don't have access to Leafeon Lv. X then
maybe use the two final spots for Call Energy to further
					assist setting up.

					So now we're looking at:

					26 Pokemon

					3 Leafeon UD-17
					1 Leafeon Lv. X MD
					4 Eevee UD-48
					3 Roselia UL-61
					3 Roserade UL-23
					2 Houndour UD-53
					2 Houndoom Prime UD-82
					2 Drowzee HS-62
					2 Hypno HS-23
					2 Uxie LA
					2 Shaymin UD

					20 T/S/S

					2 Broken-Time Space PL-104
					2 Bebe's Search RR-89
					4 Super Scoop Up UL-83
					1 Luxury Ball SF-86
					2 Pokemon Communication
					2 Pokemon Collector
2 Any Combo of Flower Shop Lady/Palmer's Contribution
					3 Energy Exchange UD-73
					1 Cynthia's Feelings
					1 Premier Ball

					14 Energy

					8 Grass Energy Basic
					2 Psychic Energy Basic
					4 Rainbow Energy HS-104

I hope this Build helps you Cartoon Eric, it looks more
consistent and it may wind up helping you to success.

Keep the Deck Ideas coming Pojo Fans, I'm hoping to do at
least one a week, but I need your submissions!! Until next
time this is Rocket Boss blasting off again!!
