ROXOR
December 22, 2008

Hello, I am very sorry that I have been away for so long, but my finals were calling! That’s OK, because I am back now to hopefully get a bunch of fixes done during these City Championships. I was able to go to one yesterday in Pittsburgh, which was exciting because it was my first in over a year, since my last 2 City tournaments last year! I played solid, but had some flip troubles in a few games, going 3-2. Hopefully I can get a more detailed report out later. Anyway, let’s get down to business, with my first deck fix in too long:

------------------------------

This is a deck that I work long and hard on everyday. It is for the DP-on format. I have sent you variations of this deck, but this is the real thing! It is the Psychic Tsunami deck. Oh, and I'm Jake. You may change anything you wish for this deck. Maybe AMU could fit in, and I have tried Dusknoir and Gyarados (from Stormfront) with GOOD results. I'm just saying do what you wish. Oh, I have no trouble with any decks because this deck doesn't play out like most decks. This is ROXOR! But it could possibly need help.

Now for the Decklist...

Pokemon (23)

Gulpin x4 la 98/146

Swalot x2 la 72/146

Horsea x4 la 102/146

Seadra x2 la 70/146

Kingdra x1 la 7/146

Bidoof x4 sf 54/100

Bibarel x2 sf 32/100

Mewtwo x2 la 11/146

Mewtwo lvl. X x1 DP28

Spiritomb x1 16/146

Trainers (13)

Luxury Ball x1 sf 86/100

Poke Ball x2 dp 110/130

Switch x2 sf 93/100

Bebe's Search x4 sw 119/132

Roseanne's Research x4 sw 125/132

Energy (24)

Water Energy x13

Psychic Energy x11

Strategy:

Start with Gulpin, Bidoof, or Horsea. Mewtwo if you must. NEVER Spiritomb!!! Annoy your opponent with Amnesia, stall with Reverse Thrust, and do damage with Bidoof. Bibarel sets up fast and quickly does Surf. 2 Waters+60 damage=BROKEN!!! Swalot's Gunk Shot does nice damage, and Poisons. Kingdra... well, you get it with all the Kingdra decks running around. Dragon Pump, Aqua Stream, Dragon Pump, etc... Mewtwo Lvl.X does WILD damage! Giga Burn 2 times, Gunk Shot, Dragon Pump, or Surf for the game! Spiritomb won't usually attack and is used for Curse Breath. That is how the deck is executed. Works well!

Strategy:

The objective is to start with any basic but Mew

------------------------------

Pokemon: OK, there is too much going on here to have a solid strategy (a must in every deck). Let’s concentrate on Bibarel and Kingdra. Eliminate Swalot, Mewtwo, and Spiritomb. Solidify Kingdra’s line by taking out 2 Horsea and 1 Seadra, while adding another Kingdra. Take out 1 Bidoof and add another Bibarel. Finally add in 3 Kyogre. Kyogre is so solid, especially in a quick deck like this. It will let you attach to it so that you will be able to attack with it turn 2. High Tide also works well to dump energy into the discard for Kingdra to sweep up later in the game. Finally add 1 Suicune to bring stuff back and add 1 Unown G to avoid some of the meaner attacks out there right now.

-4 Gulpin

-2 Swalot

-2 Horsea

-1 Seadra

-2 Mewtwo

-1 Mewtwo Lv. X

-1 Bidoof

-1 Spiritomb

+1 Kingdra

+1 Bibarel

+3 Kyogre

+1 Unown G

+1 Suicune

Trainers: Lots of work to do here. Take out the Poke Ball and Switch. Put in 3 Rare Candy for Kingdra. Put in 4 Buck’s Training for more draw power and extra damage. Then add 2 Professor Oak’s Visit, 2 Cynthia’s Feelings, and 2 Team Galactic’s Wager. Add in 4 PlusPower for more extra damage and 2 Dawn Stadium for healing effects. Finally put in 1 Night Maintenance and 2 Warp Point.

-2 Poke Ball

-2 Switch

+3 Rare Candy

+4 Buck’s Training
+2 Professor Oak’s Visit

+2 Cynthia’s Feelings

+2 Team Galactic’s Wager

+4 PlusPower

+2 Dawn Stadium

+1 Night Maintenance

+2 Warp Point

Energy: Take out all of the Psychic Energy.

-11 Psychic Energy

------------------------------

This deck should hopefully be much more consistent for you now. Having so many lines will complicate things so that you won’t be able to consistently rely on something. Now you can start with literally anything, because each line can quickly do damage and the Unown G can hide using its Power. Having all of the supporters will help you draw and start quickly, making up for the lack a Claydol (which if you have, it should be a strong candidate to put in here). Kingdra can easily put energy back in the deck, and Suicune helps to bring Pokemon back, so only 1 Night Maintenance should be necessary.

Good luck with any tournaments you use this in, and feel free to send me an email with questions. Thanks to everyone reading, check out the other fix of the day, too.
