Ability: If this ship wins a boarding party, she may take as much treasure from the other ship as she can carry.

 

One of my friendly enemies, Bosun Zach, used this ship in our last battle. He learned the hard way what I've been saying for years: a ship that's too slow is as good as useless.

 

The Aaron Burr has very good cargo. If she ever got to use her ability, she could make you rich in one shot. But even with a Helmsman, she won't catch many gold ships, and the Helmsman runs up her sailaway cost to 13 points. Even the Americans can do better than that for a gold ship. Her cannons are pretty good, but again, she's too slow to be of any use.

 

The Aaron Burr is named for the man who killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel; he's generally considered a villain in American history. This isn't the worst ship around. But she's overpriced and under-sped. I really can't think of any reason to use her.

Ability: If this ship wins a boarding party, she may take as much treasure from the other ship as she can carry. We finish off the week with a small two mast ship. With two good cannons and a fine cargo hold. She could be a very effective little ship. Provided she’s able to move about.

In order to do that she needs a helmsman. Her ability works well with the large cargo hold, but unfortunately with that base move she’ll be lucky to catch a fish let alone another ship. If by sheer fluke she did, then two masts aren’t going to give you a huge advantage when it comes to boarding.

This ability costs a good four points and with not enough speed and not enough masts. It all adds up too not enough reason to want to use her.
