(Yawn) Yet another home-island robber without the speed to pull it off. Will WizKids ever learn?

The Loki, named for the jokester among the Norse deities, would make a decent raider. Give her a Captain and a Helmsman and sic her on enemy gold ships. But keep her away from enemy fighters; one-masted ships die in battle like snowballs in a blast furnace, and there goes your nineteen points (ship plus crew). A Musketeer would give her a third shot, but now you've invested 22 points in a ship that can't take any damage at all.

As for her ability, don't bother. Her cargo is only 3, so if you mean to steal two treasures, that means only one crew. Will it be the Helmsman so she can get in and out quickly, or the Captain so she can protect herself? Even the enemy's weakest gold ship can take out the Loki just by ramming her, and gold ships are commonplace near enemy home islands. The best you can hope for is to give her a fighting crew, leave one cargo empty, and feint toward an enemy home. The foe will probably respond by changing half his ships' courses to deal with your threatened robbery. Then you blast his gold ships, dodge his fighters, and never go near the home island - you'd never get out alive anyway.

All that said, the Loki suffers from the same problem as almost all
longships: she costs too much for what you get.

Another longship with a high point cost, useless ability, and slow move. Didn't they get tired of making these? This ship can't exactly get through to your enemies home island unless it has a helmsman, and then it only has the two cargo to load up. It also only has one mast to defend itself against other ships, and if your opponent is any bit smart, he'll have at least 1 or 2 ships guarding his home island. Sure, his cannon can do a little damage, but really, if he was gonna shoot, then he wouldn't be loading treasure.
Overall this looks just like another filler longship that has no real use. It can't be used as a fighter, and it would be a pretty terrible treasure ship for the 16 points. Go buy something useful, like the White Rose or something. I give this ship a 1.5/5.
