One of the first things I noticed about the Guy
Fawkes is that she's a good-looking ship. Unlike
most of the Royal Navy, which is done in monotonous
shades of black and brown, this ship has a blue hull
and a Union Jack on the main topsail. But she isn't
just a pretty face; she's a fine fighting ship for a
very reasonable price.
Her guns are very good, although an L cannon or two
wouldn't have hurt.
But the built-in world-hater ability changes her
close-range shooting percentage against non-English
ships to an impressive 233%. Numbers like this, for
only 11 points, make a very good bargain indeed.
Does this ship have any drawbacks? She's on the slow
side, and her cargo capacity isn't great. But
there's room for a Captain, a Helmsman, and one
other. A Musketeer would be useful, or you could
spend more for a crew that gives a
same-attack-twice. Or leave the space empty for
opportunity. This ship doesn't need much help to do
well.
