Zheng Li Kwan

*yawn* Why did Wizkids choose this for a preview super rare? Oh
well...3 points for the Jade Rebellion's version of the standard treasure-trading crew. You can ditch a treasure you don't want for a random one from any other island. This is good for getting rid of unwanted unique treasure, but it can potentially backfire. There's really not a lot to say about this guy. He's the standard treasure-trader, and not a top pick if you ask me.

Pirates of the Barbary Coast – Zheng Li Kwan #135

Name:  Zheng Li Kwan

Set: PBC

Card #: 135

Rarity: Super Rare

Type: Crew

Cost: 3 Points

Faction: Jade Rebellion

Ability – “After looking at treasure on a wild island, you may trade any one treasure from that island for a random treasure on any other wild island. This ship must load the traded treasure.

Flavor Text – “Considered a hero by the poor, Zheng is hunted by the Ming emperor for his smuggling operation, by the English for his sinking of their ships and stealing of their goods, and by the Manchu Dynasty because of his total lack of respect for them.”

The choice of this particular character as their premier Jade Rebel is quite puzzling.  I guess historically he’s very popular and well-known, but this isn’t all that playable.  In fact, I don’t think I would even bother with him, though he’s definitely a flavor adder.

As for collectibility, check my note on the Black Lotus, this piece has also not been broken up by Ebay sellers much, though there are several Ebay stores that have him for sale between $7.50 and $10.00.

My Ratings:

Playability 3 of 5

Collectability 5 of 5

Next Time – We’ll round the week out with the Tiger’s Breath.
