Number 76: Harmonizer Gradielle

Number 76: Harmonizer Gradielle
– #BLHR-EN029

2 Level 7 monsters
This card’s Attribute is also treated as each of its attached materials’ Attributes. Cannot be destroyed by battle with a monster of the same Attribute, also cannot be destroyed by the activated effects of your opponent’s monsters with the same Attribute. (Quick Effect): You can target 1 monster in your opponent’s GY; detach 1 material from this card, and if you do, attach that target to this card as material. You can only use this effect of “Number 76: Harmonizer Gradielle” once per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Number 76: Harmonizer Gradielle is a new Rank 7 that can hold down your field if used correctly.

Any Level 7 monsters will do. The protection Gradielle gets is very good, but complete protection against monsters with attributes attached to her (as well as her own, LIGHT) would’ve been better. That being said, destruction protection is good and never going to be turned away. LIGHT monsters have a deep pool of members in the game, so that Attribute alone being protected against is good. You can detach a material and grab a monster from your opponents grave and use that as a new material, gaining protection against that Attribute. For players using Gradielle using one kind of Attribute like I do (DARK), gaining protection against monsters using destruction effects that are LIGHT, DARK, or (insert Attribute here), I like the detach to get a different material effect a lot. I don’t like that certain cards will activate once detached from Gradielle, but that is few and far between. Strong ATK/DEF help Gradielle and while she doesn’t have spin-back protection that doesn’t take away from how good she could be.

Are there better Rank 7’s? Yes. Is she a good one? Yes.

Yesterday’s card was a skill card (that I didn’t review. Sorry, must have dialed a wrong Number.) while today’s card is a mid-boss card. Number 76: Harmonizer Gradielle is a Rank 7 Light Fairy-type XYZ Monster with 2700 Atk and 2100 Def. It seems like everything is generic this week only requiring any 2 Level 7 monsters to get this out properly. I called Number 76 a mid boss because 2700 Atk is just good enough to be good, but low compared to other bosses. She also has protection from destruction by battle and from the activated effects of monsters so long as she she is the same attribute as the monster she is battling or being activated against. Normally that would just be Light monsters, but Gradielle is treated as whatever attribute her materials are in addition to her own native attribute. That’s pretty good protection, we just wish it was all effects of monsters and not just the activated destruction effects. To make her more anti-single-attribute decks, as a Quick Effect she can steal a targeted monster from the opponent’s grave and attach it to herself as material. This costs a material, but it is a good recycle to give herself new protection from a different attribute. It’s once per turn, but even if the attribute is the same, stealing a monster from their grave in response to one of their effects is almost as good as Called by the Grave. Number 76: Harmonizer Gradielle is a good option for Rank 7, even if she is bit weaker. She also gets a mark in the pro column for being a Number monster. Try one out and see if you dance to the beat of her sword piano.

It might not be the best effect this week, but it’ll probably be the best artwork, here’s Number 76: Harmonizer Gradielle.

Number 76 is a Rank 7 LIGHT Fairy Xyz with 2700 ATK and 2100 DEF. Stats are good on a Rank 7, LIGHT and Fairy are fine as well. The summoning requirements are any 2 Level 7 monsters, easy in any deck full of Level 7s. This card’s attribute is treated as the Attributes of the monsters attached to it as material, which will allow for some interesting things with this card’s own effect and maybe some other cards, but yes it will have multiple attributes. It cannot be destroyed by battle or the activated monster effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this, and I wish it was just unaffected by monster effects with the same Attribute because then Castel can still put this back in the Extra Deck if she doesn’t have a WIND attached to her, and that’s just one example of how this can be outed. As a Quick Effect and hard once per turn, you can target a monster in your opponent’s graveyard and detach a material from this card to attach the targeted monster as material. If a monster with a different Attribute is about to threaten you and your opponent has something in their graveyard with the same Attribute as the threatening monster, you can use this to take it from them and make this safe. Plus, it can disrupt your opponent’s plays with their graveyard if they had any, so that’s probably a better benefit. The Rank 7 pool isn’t as packed, but there are just so many better options in it like Big Eye, Dracossack, Flare Metal Dragon, etc. but at the same time you might be able to fit this into your Extra Deck after you add your Rank 7s and Link Monsters, unless your deck has archetype specific Rank 7s it uses.

Midweek brings us to a bigger XYZ Monster, in Number 76:  Harmonizer Gradielle.  She is a Rank 7, Light, Fairy type Monster, with 2700 attack and 2100 defense who requires any two Level 7 Monsters for an XYZ Summon.  This is one of those fun/weird Attribute related Monsters who gains abilities of sorts when she is of a certain Attribute or Attributes.

For starters, her Attribute becomes any of the XYZ Material that are attached to her.  She has Battle immunity from Monsters of the same Attribute, which is always a plus to see, even if it’s tied to something like Attributes.  Same protection under the same circumstances from Monster effects.  So the protection is there in two forms, albeit in a restricted manner.

Finally, as a (once per turn) Quick Effect, you can detach an XYZ Material from this card to attach a Monster from your opponent’s Graveyard as new XYZ Material.  This is fun.  Taking things from the opponent can be disruptive.  This card has potential to be rather good, but it’s dependent greatly on what Attribute(s) your opponent plays, as well as what they have Monster wise in the Graveyard.  Fun card, but I feel not too reliable.

Rating:  3/5

Art:  5/5 (again) She’s absolutely a Fairy, the colors here are fantastic, I specifically like the wings a great deal.  The keyboard sword is awesome, and so are all the music notes.
