IT’S BACK-TO-DUEL SEASON IN THE Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME!

El Segundo, Calif. (August 5, 2020) – Summer may almost be over, but the action’s heating up in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG). Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) is excited to offer Duelists 5 new releases in August and September, spanning new eras and epic memories, to classic throwbacks and secret histories. It all starts with a new dawn for the TCG, as Rise of the Duelist ushers in new strategies, new support, and incredible power cards for competitors of all levels. From there we arrive at one of the most beloved releases every year, as the 2020 Tin of Lost Memories reinvents the collector’s tin concept, and debuts one of the most powerful monsters ever printed: Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon

Fans of Duel Monsters can score some of the most collectible cards in the last decade of Dueling with Dragons of Legend: The Complete Series, reissuing fan-favorites with colorful Ultra Rare and Secret Rare foil technology…and even some new artwork! Then Legendary Duelists: Rage of Ra shifts favor to some of Dueling’s greatest villains, with new support that lets you command the full power of the famed Egyptian God Card for the first time ever! And finally, fans of The Dark Magicians will be able to play, display, and transport their cards in style, with a new collection of premium accessories.

Rise of the Duelist kicks off a new era of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG with new themes, more cards for your favorite Decks, and hard-hitting powerhouses you can play in anything. The Extra Deck is a pivotal part of modern Dueling, but get ready, because Rise of the Duelist introduces a new knighthood that punishes Extra Deck Summons. Leading the charge are a trio of Level 4 Spellcasters you can Special Summon from your hand whenever there’s a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck in play; each has a relentless ability that helps keep your forces on the field, and they’re all immune to destruction by battle when they face any monster Summoned from the Extra Deck. They’re matched by a trio of boss monsters that strip cards from your opponent’s Extra Deck, banish Extra Deck cards from your opponent’s graveyard, and negate the effects of your opponent’s monsters. The crusade hits fast and hard with flurries of Special Summons, and resourceful Duelists may find that this new order works especially well with Fusion Summoning.

Melffy Rabby poked its head out in Legendary Duelists: Season 1, but now the entire forest-dwelling family has arrived! The mischievous Melffy are a cavalcade of cuteness, ducking and dodging your opponent; the Melffy monsters hop back to your hand whenever they’re targeted or attacked, unleashing effects that help you gather your furry forces. Team them up for an Xyz Summon and you can add Melffy cards to your hand, lock attackers in place, or unleash the mother of all Melffy to turn your opponent’s monsters against them. Better yet, you can end the Duel with the flip of a single Trap Card, bumping your opponent’s cards off the field and sending your Melffy monsters on a delightful rampage. Hang onto a few copies of Obedience Schooled from Battles of Legend: Armageddon, and get ready to unleash a cuddly catastrophe.

Infernoble Knights officially debuted in Toon Chaos with Infernoble Knight – Renaud and Infernoble Knight – Roland, but now that spark’s about to become an unstoppable wildfire! The Infernoble Knights are a blazingly fast Synchro Summoning strategy that builds off the chivalry of the original Noble Knights, bolstered by allies like Noble Knight Medraut and wielding the Heritage of the Chalice. Two new Level 4 Warriors join Renaud and Roland along with a new Level 1, all granting powerful effects from the Graveyard (perfect for Synchro Summoning). New “Infernoble Arms” Equip Spells are bound for the Graveyard too, equipping and burning away for more effects. It all adds up to two red-hot Synchro Monsters, starting with a Synchro version of Roland that delivers set-up combos and serves as a Tuner for the Infernoble Knights’ leader. That stunning Level 9 Synchro turns Equip Cards into raw destruction, and plucks Equips from your Deck and Graveyard to demolish your opponent’s plans.

And that’s not all! Rise of the Duelist brings some incredible new cards you can play anywhere, including a new “Forbidden” Spell Card that works like a mix of Forbidden Chalice and the classic Shrink. You’ll also find one of the most anticipated cards of the year, a Normal Spell Card that punishes your opponent for playing cards like Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and Effect Veiler, harnessing the effects of Change of Heart, The Forceful Sentry and Pot of Greed!

Rise of the Duelist

From Adamancipators and Ancient Warriors, to Darklords and Dragonmaids, to Machinas, Mathmechs and more, Rise of the Duelist has something for every Dueling fan. It arrives on August 7 with 100 cards: 50 Commons, 26 Super Rares, 14 Ultra Rares and 10 Secret Rares. MSRP: $3.99 per 9-card pack.

It just gets bigger from there. Each year, the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG crams hundreds of the game’s latest and greatest cards into a collector’s tin format, and this year’s offering is even more memorable than usual. The 2020 Tin of Lost Memories celebrates the beginning of the ancient Duel between the Pharaoh and Priest Seto from the Tablet of Lost Memories, a fitting motif for a set with the most popular cards from 2019!

Each 2020 Tin of Lost Memories comes with 3 Mega-Packs. They’re bigger than ever before too, each with 2 more foils than last year’s Mega-Packs. That means each Tin will contain a total of 3 Prismatic Secret Rares, 6 Ultra Rares, 6 Super Rares, 3 Rares and 36 Commons. You’ll find the best of the best from sets like Savage Strike, Dark Neostorm, Rising Rampage and Chaos Impact, and the mega-set will mark the World Premiere of 3 brand-new cards, plus the debut of the mighty Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon!

A stunning Fusion of Yugi’s Dark Magician and Joey’s Red-Eyes Black Dragon, Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon can’t be targeted or destroyed by effects, and once per turn it lets you negate a card or an effect of your choice. Even better? During your Main Phase Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon can destroy opposing monsters, dishing out damage equal to the ATK of whatever it destroys…and if you play your cards right, you can do it more than once per turn. Thanks to Predaplant Verte Anaconda from Duel Overload, the Dragoon can fit into almost any Deck, bringing tons of power to your favorite strategies.
