Time Platform.

God I love this card. It gives everyone a Fizzle. "But Scott, it costs resource points..." Yeah? And? Do you think Doom cares? Not really. Sure, they'll slow down to be able to have a 'counter'. It allows any deck to have some measure of defense. Being able to transfer it bascially means that it will always be good because it will be on your best character. Time will tell, but I know for sure it will be great in the FF deck since you can play stuff cheaper there. Doom should use this pretty gem. Other non-Gotham decks will probably find it useful when going with a more defensive strategy.

In limited, why not. It's gonna get something, and when Plot Twists are at a premium, stopping one key one might just stop an opponent's deck from winning.

Time Platform

Today we are going to move on to an interesting piece of equipment – Time Platform.  I have a feeling that this equipment was designed to stifle the uproar caused when Fizzle hit the scene.  Now everyone has the chance to run their own version of Fizzle, no matter what deck they choose to run.  The question is…should you?

The answer is simply this:  Unless you are running a straight fantastic four deck, stay away from this card.  Why?  Well let’s look at the pros and cons…

Pros:

-This equipment is transferable.

-With this card in play, you essentially have a Fizzle on the field and this means that you can take out any non-ongoing plot twist *cough*Savage Beatdown*cough*.

Cons:

-Too expensive to play unless you have characters, plot twists, or locations that allow you to get this equipment when you need it and play it cheaper. (Can we say straight FF deck?)

-This card is unique.

-This card is a rare.

So now I am going to insert a short rant…..I would have thought that if the game designers would have decided to even the playing field after releasing Fizzle, that they would have at least produced a card that I could 1.) get my hands on relatively cheaply or 2.) made it so that I could actually play this card in a deck outside of Fantastic Four with relative ease!  Shame on you Upperdeck!!!.......Whew, now I feel better!

Bottom Line:  If you are not able to get your hands on four of these cards don’t worry about it.  You will probably want to run 2-3 of these cards in a weenie rush deck or mono-FF deck.  Common Enemy decks probably shouldn’t bother simply due to lack of room.  Coming from someone who plays Fizzle, I would say that the effect is nice, but it isn’t necessarily game breaking.

Ratings:

Constructed – 2.0/5.0 ….This card has an awesome effect, but is too expensive to play in many decks.

Limited – 2.5/5.0 …..You might get a better opportunity to get this card on the field.

Johnny Blaze
Time Platform - A unique Equipment for the Cost of 2. Another diabolical invention of the wicked Dr. Doom to get rid of the FF. Actually in this game, Time Platform is not limited to Dr. Doom, any character can be equipped with it. For a cost of 2 it is actually better to use Plot Twists that have the same effect than this equipment has.

Constructed: 2/5- If it weren’t for the cost of 2 I would say maybe, but you are already wasting 2 recruit points to equip it then you have to KO the thing to get its complete effect.

Limited: 1/5 – Its better to spend recruit points on Characters than this equipment, especially since it gets KO’d when you activate it.

I'm not really sold on this card yet. It seems like its a *decent* addition to the card pool, but it is like having a non-secret, not-so-good, not-so-cheap Fizzle on your side of the board. Due to its cost, I can't see it seeing a lot of play, but Fantastic Four might make use of this card, especially with guys like Mr. Fantastic, Stretch and Mr. Fantastic, Scientific Genius at their disposal. Unfortunately, it is Unique, and it is a payment power, limited this card even more than it already is.

In limited, I think I'd just pass this card up. It seems really important to have a play almost every turn, and if you are playing a 3-Drop on Turn 5, I'm not too sure you'll be winning the game even with a Fizzle-like ability.
