Doubling anything is potentially very dangerous – it’s why Berserk made some of the early banned and restricted lists – especially when the thing you’re doubling is the thing that lets you follow up with other dangerous things. At six mana, this card is unlikely to be the only mana-boosting enchantment in your deck, but it might well be the one that you stack on top of a slightly cheaper one to go from about six mana to about infinite mana. This is particularly the case in singleton formats, of course. It’s also one of the few effects of this type which applies to artifacts and creatures (as if Sol Ring needed any help!).

Doubling mana has always been a brutal way to make games end quickly, and Mana Reflection doubles it from all permanent sources. In a color with a lot of cute hydras, and adjacent to massive burn spells, this is quite a nice way to fuel a monstrous assault on the next turn. The main issue is that Mana Reflection often does nothing the turn it comes down…and, at six mana, it’s hard to really make it fire on the same turn. It’s certainly potent if you ever get to untap with it, but it’s way too slow for Constructed shenanigans, and you need to be able to protect this at tables where this is most likely to appear.

Constructed: 1.75
Casual: 3.5
Limited: 3 (can work if you have mana sinks, but many decks may be bereft of those)
Multiplayer: 3.5
Commander: 3.75
