Robert Overton [mailto:davyd_t_gnome@yahoo.com] Peasant Deck - Ninjaphidian Decklist Creatures - 17 4x Cloud Sprite 3x Vampire Bats 4x Man-O'-War 4x Ninja of the Deep Hours 2x Jetting Glasskite (uncommon) Spells - 21 3x Forbid (uncommon) 2x Power Sink 4x Diabolic Edict 2x Terror 3x Unsummon 4x Gush 3x Mind Games Lands - 22 15x Island 7x Swamp Ninjaphidian is a deck based loosely on the old Ophidian decks. This deck tends to be a little less controlling than the old ones, as it relies on getting a turn one flier into play followed by a turn two Ninja of the Deep Hours. Board control doesn't generally get established until after the Ninja is in play. Everything else is there to keep the ninjas alive and to clear a path for them. The ninjas have a particularly good synergy with the Man-O'-War, as they do with just about any comes-into-play creatures. Forbid is an excellent card in this deck, as you'll often have the extra cards to buy it back. I originally had the Glasskites in as a finisher that was hard to knock off with targetted removal, but I've found in my testing that the 2/2 creatures are usually what kills my opponent and the glasskites just sit in my hand. As such, I've considered dropping the Glasskites in favor of two Force Of Will or even in favor of pain lands. I'd love to hear any thoughts about fixes the deck could use, as well as sideboard advice. The only sideboard thought I've already had is the inclusion of Aven Envoy, since a Mogg Fanatic on turn one can really upset the balance by killing the 1-toughness fliers before the ninja can come down.
