REVENGE OF THE QUARTER CARDS
By John Ramos
The last straight color we shall look at will be green. Green forte is to produce large quantities of mana in a short period of time. Green is weak when it comes to fliers though and usually this is what causes Green to lose.
Green Stompy – Type II
4-River Boa-common from Visions
4-Seal of Strength
You can get away with only 20 land since most of your spells cost less then 2 to cast. This is a little weaker then “Green Sompy”, but you will find that it’s almost just as good. Rancor is just an awesome card.
Green Mana Burst – Type II
1-Stream of Life
This deck can produce huge amounts of mana. By round 4 you can produce up to 6-8 mana! Which means you can cast anything in your deck. You will use your Regeneration on your Spider or Dragonfly. The Dragonfly will remove just about any creature blocking it or that it blocks. Use this tactic with one of your large creatures, as it attacks and kills the blockers, you then just regenerate it. Eventually whipping out your opponents creatures.
Trampler – Type I
4-Crash of Rhinos
4-Root Breaker Wurm
This deck makes the most of Trample. You will cast your walls to hold off the initial onslaught of creatures. You will then cast and attack with your tramplers. Use Giant growths to remove problem creatures and Reclaim to get the Giant growths back.
Green Fly Boy – Type I
This deck uses an old combo. Basillisk and Regeneration. You use the Basillisks “stonning” ability and then regenerate him. You can do the same combo with another creature using Venom & Regeneration. You can also use fog in the capacity of Regeneration. You block or attack with creatures that have the “stonning” effect and then cast Fog. Your creatures don’t deal or receive damage, but the “stonning effect still happens.
