Format: Mirrodin Booster Draft

So me and my friend Matt get dropped off at around 5:00pm so we have some pizza and enter the tournament and buy our three boosters. The seating arrangement was greatly to my advantage because the only other person playing white was across the table and he was playing more artifacts than white.
I ended up next to a guy who plays R/U religiously in draft. So I got alot of good stuff.

Spells:
2 Razor Barrier(Co-MVP)

Lands:
1 Glimmervoid
15 Plains

It ended up being much faster than first thought due to the low mana-curve. Probably close to the best deck there but it got beaten due to a great topdeck.

Round One

Me vs. Cory playing G/W
    Game 1:
My deck never really gets going due to a bad judgment call on my part. I chose not to mulligan and it costed me dearly. I get a first turn Glaivemaster(the only non-land card in my hand) but he plays a land and says go. I draw and play bonesplitter and begin the beats. He plays another land and says go. I dont draw another card till its too late. On turn 4 he is a Tel-jilad Exile and says go. I draw a Skyhunter cub and play it and say go. he plays a green and deconstucts my bonesplitter and plays fangren hunter. I topdeck a Warhammer and play it on the cub and start the life race. pretty soon he is at 7 and I am at 24 thanks to my warhammer but he swings with every thing and I take 15 Damage. My turn I draw a plains and play it and put him at 1 life. Being at 16 thanks to my Warhammer I am pretty happy until he nourishes up to 7 again and swings. Im down to 1 and draw, I need any equipment card and I draw a plains. Onto Game 2.

    Game 2:
This time I get the cards I need I start with a glaivemaster and a Den-Guard Equipped. As soon as Skyhunter cub hits the board he cant find an answer. He gets out a load of creatures but I just chump block his Tangle Golem. I go for the winning attack and he plays his trump card...Soul Nova. His friends laugh and make good comments like 'ouch, thats gotta hurt' and 'well its over now'. I smirk and flash a razor barrier. His friends change their tune and we go to game three.

    Game 3:
This is probably one of the closest battles of the day. We both have good draws but he has a flyer this time and that proves to be my demise. I would have won but I tapped out for the warhammer and attacked. He flashed soul Nova and I knew it was game. The worst part is that I had razor barrier in my hand.

Games: 1-2
Matches: 0-1

Round Two

Me vs. My friend Jon R/U
    Game 1:
This is probably the best player who is my friend. Game 1 is all me. The threats and equipments just keep coming. He never finds an answer and A skyhunter cub and glaivemaster come in for the win.

    Game 2:
Very close game, Nothing really happens differently until he washes away my specters shroud and puts it on his chromscale drake. I find a way to kill it but he topdecks Detonate and I lose.

    Game 3:
Skyhunter cub once again shows up with a warhammer and a fireshrieker. He stalls for a while with a icy Manipulator but my threats keep coming and he cant get anything. He is at 15 and I am at 35 (warhammer + fireshrieker = life). He gets down double scepter with Detonate, but I will win the life battle any way. Then he plays carry away and takes my warhammer and things arent looking so good any more. During my turn I play and equip a Morningstar. I swing and put him at five. He attaches Warhammer to a spikeshot goblin and swings to goes up to nine. Then he uses his scepters to put me at 21. I draw and play a Leonin Sun Standard, he plays regress on my cub. So I lay a land, and my cub then say go. He plays a land and repeats the process putting me at 7 and him at thirteen. I draw a....bonesplitter play and equip it to my cub along with the Morningstar and Fireshrieker with 2 plains and a glimmervoiud untapped I swing. He takes it all because he has no flying creatures. I use sun standard to pump for the win.

Games: 3-3
Matches: 1-1

Round 3

Me vs. Dan B/R
    Game 1:
This guy is a joke. I play a plains and a glaivemaster and say go. He plays a land and says go. I play and equip a bonesplitter and ride it all the way. He never laid anything but land.
    Game 2:
His deck might have been good but I never saw anything but land. I lay a plains and a bonesplitter then say go. He plays land. I lay plains and a sun standard. He lays down a land. I play a third plains and drop a razor golem, he looks at his hand for a long time and then scoops. He doesnt touch me at all either game.

Games: 5-3
Matches: 2-1

I came in tied for 5th but lots of kids had a 2-1 record. I got a scythe of the Wretched and a spellbinder as my prize. Now time for props and slops.

Props:
Me for doing my best yet and pulling a Sword of Fire and Ice after the draft.
Jon for passing me the deck I beat him with.
Skyhunter cub my most consistent creature.

Slops:
Dan for making me hurry because he wanted to trade.
My friend Matt for trying to give deck ideas to people when he finishes last every time.
Day of the Dragons for being the best card in the world for affinity. (according to Matt at least)

Well I hope you liked my first ever tourney Report.
