Why, you ask? It's because it's based on the 1999 World Champion Kai Budde's Wildfire deck. Like his deck, this one uses many artifacts to bring out the big land-destruction spells and still survive. After the big spells, you can still guard against later lands with smaller, single-target spells such as Lay Waste and Misguided Rage. Misguided Rage is especially useful against enchantments and artifacts that manage to hit the table early. Then, once you've established control of the table, bring out the big baddies like Covetous Dragon, Rorix Bladewing and Karn. You can even generate big creatures with the Replicators, especially since you've got the mana. That's when you win. As sideboards, Defense Grid works well against good permission decks. Not only does a simple Counterspell cost 3UU, it will also draw the counter-magic spells from your opponent's hand to clear the way for your big spells. Then, Thran Foundry handles discarders or decks that try to deck you out. You may think weenies may pose a big threat to this deck. In my experience, I've kept a perfect record against weenies of any color.
