Ah, I remember the good old days of the ever so fun Urza block, with all those fun quick kills and what not, plus soooo many broken cards. Those were fun times. Heh.

Well, now that Mirrodin’s out, it’s almost the same. ALMOST. Wizards has seemed to learn their lesson and tried watering down this set a bit. Well, that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun with this set. There’s quite a number of Type II “infinites” in this set so I’d like to point them out for the fun of doing so:

* Okay, Triske can be combined with a slew of things. Basically, this is about Triske coming back into play an infinite number of times.

- Disciple of the Vault: Obviously, whenever Triske hits the graveyard, opponent loses 1 life. Doing so an infinite number of loss life for opponent.

- Dross Scorpion: Untapping an artifact whenever he hits the graveyard. Good for infinite mana with things like Chrome Mox, Gilded Lotus, or for those pocketbooks, any of the artifact land.

- Dross Harvester: A great creature IMHO. Very underrated. Gets even better with Triske/Scythe, as can we say LARGE amount of life?

- Vermiculos: Okay, not that great of a creature IMHO. However, with Triske, it gets rather BIG.

Triskelion + Scythe of the Wretched + (*): Ah yes, the ever so famous Scythe and Triske. Well, Wizards tried toning the Scythe down to stop easy “infinites” with him, but that doesn’t mean he can’t. Shoot himself with everything he’s got and gain infinite life loss or untapping of an artifact…perhaps something like the artifact land maybe…?

Triskelion + Goblin Sharpshooter + Scythe of the Wretched + (*):

Okay, ping Triske with Sharpshooter and then have Triske shoot the opponent for one and himself with the last two counters. The Scyther brings him back, all effects trigger and you can repeat. Well, with the Disciple or Scorpion, easy way to speed the killing with the Disciple.

Sidenote: Lotus can work well with Granite Shard, which can replace the Sharpshooter.

Triskelion + Crystal Shard: Well, not too obvious I guess…Play Triske, and then at the end of opponent’s turn, launch the counters, and bounce back to hand. Nothing too obvious there huh? Then again, any easy permanent way to bounce him back to your hand will work.

- Leonin Elder: Triske comes back into play many times, thus, gain many points of life.

Right then. This'll be all for now. Ugh, over 15,000 people in Irvine, and not a single person drafts or plays....sigh.
